The Lusitânia de Lourosa Futebol Clube, better known as Lusitânia de Lourosa, is a Portuguese club based in the city of Lourosa, municipality of Santa Maria da Feira, in Portugal. It is best known for its professional football team, which currently plays in the Segunda Liga, the second most important competition of Portuguese football.


It was founded on April 24, 1924 and changed its emblem several times. Its first design was very similar to that of Os Belenenses until the village began to associate its players as Lions, so in its emblem appears a lion, which is in its current emblem. The club has never participated in the First League.
In the 2013/14 season, the senior team participated in the National Championship of Seniors (formerly known as IIa Division B), in the Series D, after the 2012/13 season to have sacred District Champion of the Aveiro Football Association.

Playing in the 1st division of the District of Aveiro since 2016/17, Lusitânia is now preparing to be national champion of the district of Aveiro, in 2017/18, and thus return to the National Championship of Seniors.

In 2025, it rises to the Segunda Liga, the second most important competition of Portuguese football.


The team plays its home games at Estádio do Lusitânia de Lourosa FC which until 2024/25 had a capacity for about 8,000 spectators, being mostly standing and unmarked places. However, with the promotion to the Segunda Liga, the club was forced to carry out fundamental works on the grounds in order to receive professional matches, which resulted in a reduction to 4,900 seats.

In the games of the district of Aveiro it is already natural to present good houses, but Lusitânia can raise the level with several houses with a capacity near 10 thousand spectators. The rivalries and strength of the associative mass of the teams of the district of Aveiro create Primeira Liga environments. To have an idea in the 2023/24 season the Lusitânia de Lourosa managed to stay 19th in the national ranking with an average of 2,595 spectators in League 3, presenting numbers superior to Portimonense and Arouca of the First League.

In terms of infrastructure, the club has the Forte Paixão Academy for the training of young people, having already a football field with the project to contemplate up to 3 grass fields.


This club has a rivalry with the CF União de Lamas, and this game is considered one of the greatest passionate dérbis in Portugal, being watched by thousands of people both in Lourosa and in Santa Maria de Lamas, and since the rivalry began there have been several caricature episodes from side to side. Also presents rivalries with other clubs of the county.

The Armada Lusitana is the cheerleader of Lusitania who live intensely and spice up even more the history of the sport king of football.
