1. Go online and download HLDJ, dbPowerAmp, Goldwave w/ serial.

2. Install all mentioned above

3. Get a central folder, preferably close to your C:/ drive (C:/HLDJ Sounds) or something like that.

4. Get some Jacob Mitchell sounds off the internet or your hard drive.

5. Convert them using dbPowerAmp with these parameters.

Old School (HL1 Engine): 16 Bit CD - 8000Hz - 1 "Mono"

New School (HL2 Engine+): 16 Bit CD - 11025Hz - 1 "Mono"

6. Once converted, open HLDJ, and use it to find your game's path.

7. Choose a button to use, I personally use DEL as its hardly used in games.

8. Make sure your game is chosen in HLDJ, hit the big green triangle. And if your game auto opens great, if not just open the game.

9. IMPORTANT: Make sure console is setup, by right clicking the game, hitting set launch options, and typing -console in there.

10. Ingame just type la and it will give you a list of your songs.

11. Next to the song is a number, this is what you type in console to choose a song.

12. Than just hit your button while playing a game and the song should start playing.

FOR SOUND QUALITY:

I use GoldWave as it is very quick. You open a song in GoldWave and than when it loads click Effect~Filter~Equalizer. Now, make the song -5 or wherever depending on the amount of bass that is going over. If necessary click the tab at the bottom and choose bass reducer. Some songs can benefit from boosts in certain areas with this, which is a plus. Make sure the sound waves fall between the top and bottom lines and don't go over (Its ok if they go over for really annoying stuff, or hardly go over). The sound quality will be bad if it goes over, although it may be alright depending on how much it goes over.
