so i have an unfortunate announcement to make. it pains me to do this.
please read this thoroughly before asking a hundred questions.

i am going to be taking the GFF FF2 server down. ive been mulling this over for a while now. there's been next to no activity, and both batfox and i are having a hard time maintaining content flow of any kind. and no, i wont be pulling a noobis and doing this to get the server going again and take my word back a week from now. i cant manage it at all lately. my mental health has been declining faster than normal for over a year now and its been a very difficult struggle. so, gff will be turning the spotlight off for a while, theres no audience attending anymore.

ill try to answer possible questions you may have here, so please dont ping me wanting to play 20Q.

- will this be immediate?
no. i will not be taking it down immediately. the server has had its final payment made already, and isnt due til near the end of the month. when the next payment period arrives in 2-3 weeks, the server will be taken down.

- is GFF going away forever?
no, at least, not hopefully. i have no intention to make this permanent. but the flame has died, and i think it needs time to rekindle. ive been struggling alot with the weight of the obligation alone. theres no flow anymore, and i simply cant manage it right now. hopefully the server will potentially return in maybe march or april of 2021, but this is NOT a guaranteed date, please do not take this as an assurance. i cannot promise the server will return at the aforementioned time, that is simply my current goal. so, please dont make a fuss if the month comes and goes and its still not up.

- what will happen to the discord server?
aside from archiving the FF2 specific channels later on, the discord will remain more or less as it is. you will all be free to chat and such as you please, theres no need to tear apart an existing community over (hopefully) temporary shut down.
