Whats does the First Person Shooter mean?

FPS (FPS) is a video game genre where one looks out of the eyes of the character you are controlling.
FPS characterized in that:
You see the weapon in first person
You have a HUD, or Heads Up Display that displays information about the lives, ammunition, quests, a map of the level, etc.
In the middle of the screen there is a crosshair indicating where you aim
