ABOUT Exiles of Los Angeles

L4D Quality Control - Nobody Likes a Rambo

Basically, we are dedicated to creating a group of people who know how to play Left 4 Dead properly, and won't be idiots while playing the game.

A few tips:

• If you are on the point (in front of your teammates), always crouch. It increases your accuracy and clears a nice window for your friends behind you to shoot as well.

• The optimal set up for a four person team is for two people with shotguns to take the point, the other two to cover just behind with the Uzi/M16/Hunting Rifle.

• Whoever is last through a door closes the door. In a panic event, it gives you time and puts zombie heads right where it's easy to shoot them, as it takes a few moments for the horde to break through the door.

• If a panic event occurs during travel, find a corner or wall to put your back against, or even lock yourself in a closet or bathroom (especially if you can get your whole group in there, never abondon a fellow player).

• Turning off your flashlight in areas where you can see (I.E. the streets and lit rooms) reduces the chance of being spotted by the Infected and bosses.

• Please knock back Boomers before shooting them. I know it's tempting, but shooting them up close means you get bile all over you and your friends, and they do bad splash damage!

• You can shoot through just about anything: Doors, walls, even metal. If you hear a anything creeping about, especially a boomer, feel liberated to shoot at the walls, you may get a boomer kill.

• Don't freak out if the Witch stands up, just keep going as crouching or walking fast as you can go. Chances are, she'll growl and sit back down. If you panic and run it sets her off.

• If the Witch is in a vital passageway, a well placed Pipe Bomb will not set her off until it has exploded, and does significant damage to her. Molotovs hurt her as well, but make sure you alert your team you are throwing it, and keep back.

• If you and the rest of your survivor group are still able to run, you can run and hide from the Tank with the flashlights off.

• Molotov the Tank in a hallway if you can't avoid him. It drains him in addition to your concentrated fire.

• Unexpectedly, the Tank can destroy beginning safe room doors. It is NOT a viable option if he sees you enter it. If the crossbar is still there he won't be able to get in, and end safe rooms are okay.

• You can shoot the chunk of ground that the tank throws at you. It will disintegrate before you.

• It's quicker to melee a Hunter off of someone if you're close by.

• Please ask before intentionally setting off any alarms.

• If someone goes Rambo, let them die. You're more effective as 3 individuals working together rather than a team scattered in panic, trying to save someone who keeps getting in trouble.

• Communicate with your teammates. Always. Use the pre-set character voice options (by pressing z and x keys) if typing is too laborious and you don't have voice chat. It really simplifies things.
