Not to be confused with the parliamentary republic of Mongolia, the Democratic Republic of Mongo is a landlocked principality in the western Atlantic.

Originally colonized by shepherds from the Belgian Hebrides in 1278, the island's economy lanquished until the first sheep were imported from the New World in 1612, but soon the islanders prospered, thanks to a thriving wool industry and a vibrant adult entertainment sector.

The island has a long and proud history of resistance to attempts at foreign domination - King Harold the Unsteady in 1340, Napoleon IV in 1816, and Jackson Pollock in 1963 - but the islanders have always managed to thwart them by pretending to be someone else at a critical moment.
