The 'Civ Grande' Civilization 5 Group for friendly and serious games!

Welcome to 'Civ Grande'! This is a group dedicated to friends and friends of friends to come together and play friendly games of Sid Meier's Civilization 5! The purpose of this group is to bring everyone together in a safe enviorment for everyone to enjoy a good game of Civilization 5.

Before you move on any further please read some guidelines to ensure the enjoyment and satisfaction of anyone playing Civ 5 in this group!

No Quitting! Quitting isn't cool and will not be tolerated in the group. However, there are some exceptions. One, you have lost your capital. Two, everyone else in the game agrees that your Civ is irrelevant to the rest of the game. Three, all players agree the game is over and may either resume the game later or declare a winner. Lastly, IRL issues come up.
Only play when you have enough time! Civ games can take a long time so it is only reasonable to allocate time to play it. Try to allocate 6 to 8 hours if possible. Can be ignored if players agree to resume game at a later date.
If the game crashes, ALWAYS meet up in the game lobby/ on teamspeak for a reload. If there are technical issues a game can be scrapped with a majority vote.
All players should be respectful and display good sportsmanship. Abusive players will be removed from the game. Suiciding in a game or staying in the game without actually playing is considered worse than quitting.
Host any type of game you like aslong as you announce the settings before hand so others are not mislead.
No 'Teaming' or in other terms, pregame-determined teamplay is not allowed. Teaming is only allowed when it is agreed upon by all parties.
No exploiting even though it is a given.
If players agree to play with different rules, that is okay.

It's my birthday! I am hosting a big Age of Empires 2 event for all friends. They may also bring friends!
Installing teamspeak is needed to talk to the people there, and there may be teams or rooms divided to accommadate the people we get.

Age of Empires 2 is also required, but I am prepared to provide.

Low net or PC requriements, but better is always a huge plus.

We'll be using this as a run-up to hosting some Civ V events also, but if this works well we may keep hosting Age of Empires 2 and other games reccommended.

I don't know what is up with the calendar system, the events just seem to vanish, so I am sending out this announcement instead. Pass it on, etc.
