Steam Community :: Group :: The Civilization COOL clan

Hello my friends,

Civ World will be the new Civ version, running on Facebook, and Firaxis is looking for alpha testers (http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=10150091587224561&id=160350091191)

I'm presenting a team to this alpha test program, and noone will be surprised to learn it will be called "cool"
Of course, you don't have to join the [COOL] clan to participate, even if you are welcome anyway ( http://the-cool-clan-forum.proboards.com )

We will have Civ fans from all over the world, playing solo or multi on different versions of Civ, but i also hope we will have players coming from Facebook games, like City of Wonder and others ones.

I guess this will be a very exciting adventure, and my little experience on City of Wonder tell me Civanon will have some new members soon

Happy new year 2011 civers !

Hello civers,

Obviously, 2010 has been an incredible year for the COOL clan.
After crossing an hibernation period of quite one year, period where i was the only member (!), the clan has wake up and after many efforts and the help of Civilization V coming, we have grown up to 40 COOL civers from more than 15 countries, and we are 500 players in our Steam group :o
I really wasn't able to think about such a thing only 6 monthes ago, and this seems to be a miracle :-)
The clan spirit remain very simple : because this is a leisure and we all have important things to do in real life, freedom and having fun are our main leitmotiv, and we try to gather cool civ fans able to communicate in english in online games.
In 2010, we already organized a 2v2 internal tournament these 2 last monthes, and we will continue to propose to our members many way to have fun, with perhaps a permanent tournament in 2011 and many others things.
I think the use of Steam with Civilization V has bring to the multi-player community a lot of solo players who discover or want to discover the online mode, and we clans have a role to play by helping them, like fan sites already do.
That's why even with 40 players, we continue to recruit players who recognize themselves in the COOL clan description, we just demand the minimum of presenting yourself at the team and at least making a sign from time to time to show your interest forthe team :p
We will also reenforce the admin team to manage and animate the clan, so if you are a veteran, a valuable civer or a motivated player with good ideas and many projects that just need a little support, just contact me at [email protected]
I hope this community will stay very active, whatever the difficulties and bugs encountered in Civilization V, and that we will have a lot of fun playing together Civilization !
I would be very happy to read here your analysis, advices or just feelings about the vision of your "civ world", how you see things and what you expect in 2011.
