ABOUT The Bomb Sqwad

Welcome to the Bomb Sqwad

If you know anything about us (hippie, Jaceeee and myself (Bob Lee Swagger)) we try to pick and choose those we add to our friends list rather carefully to avoid griefers or people who simply dgaf. We have all played together at 1 point or another so I decided to make a group where everyone can join and find other reliable players to lobby up with. It even comes with a Clan Tag and logo if you want to feel extra cool!

The end goal is to be able to climb through the ranks, get better then we already are and hopefully have a legit competing team some day. All this while having fun and helping eachother out.

If you have any advice or just want to say something please feel free! In the mean time frag on!

Does anyone else out there have a CEVO account? I know some of us do (Rukus, Jaceee, Hippie, Tink and myself) but how about the rest of you?

We tried a scrim for the first time last week and let's just say it was a rude awakening of just how much more improvement is needed. We tried to take on a team that was 30-3 with 5 LAN tournies under their belt, but getting rick rolled 1-16 from T-side Inferno is downright embarassing. Granted we didn't think to get a TeamSpeak set up until 8 rounds in which didn't help but in the end we were just out classed in every which way.

I set up a scrim team for the Bomb Sqwad on CEVO as well. If you'd like to join just shoot me a message with your email and I'll send you an invite.

For those who don't know what CEVO is, think of it as a seperate league from Valve. All you need to do is create an account which is free (although you can pay a monthly fee for more services). You can get invited or join matches solo or hop in a scrim with a/your team. If you join solo in a match you can be paired up with ranks from silver 1 all the way to GE so just be aware of that.

Things you would need to do:

1. Create CEVO account (www.cevo.com)
2. Install CEVO Client
3. Manage to figure out CEVO Client and Play (I personally am no fan of their client but it's a necessary evil to play on CEVO)

Optional Scrim Team:

4. Join BS team via invite (message me your email)
5. Install TeamSpeak if you haven't already. (http://www.teamspeak.com/?page=downloads)
6. Hold onto your seat this could be a bumpy ride!


Lastly playing in CEVO doesn't affect your VALVE rank so don't worry about the derank. This is based off a different ranking (ESF point system I think).

Playing/improving on more Maps?

So as many of you know our main map we play and have our most success on is Inferno. Unfortunately though this game consist of more than 1 map and not everyone always wants to play Inferno (crazy right?). Our map rankings go something like this:

1. Inferno
2. Mirage
3. Dust2
4. Cache
5. Cobble

Problem is we really don't have many strats or better play styles on maps outside of the top 3. Hippie and I were talking and thought it might be a good idea to start having dedicated days to playing only 1 map so we can start to improve our general knowledge of it; strats, smokes and call outs of our lesser known maps. Just like any game the best way to get better is practice practice practice again and again. So even if we're getting rolled we would be learning from those experiences hopefully.

I personally would like to play more on Cache and Overpass but also start to work on Train since I only know it from DM's.

We were curious to see what others had to say about this, does this sound like a good idea to you? We could make it an event or set up weekly rotations. Thoughts and input much appreciated!
