Gameranger works for Borderlands, no need to login to gayspy, no port forwarding necessary. You can see locations and pings of public games.

At 8GB or so that's quite hefty for us with high bandwidth costs :(

Myself and partner in crime can both host, but then both our routers have to have be configured for bridging.
