Introduction

In the eerie forest's of Chernarus with nothing but a blue betty van, full of strangers, Blackrock PMC was born. The release of Survival Operation's "Hard Corps 2.0" mod, and it's exclusive server can be thanks for this. Players from across the world came to play on that server to make a name for themselves, and to try what I consider to be one of the best servers DayZ has ever seen. A hefty majority of these players were considered "Freelancers", people who held no obligation to a group, who wandered the plains of Hard Corps alone. Myself, and three strangers at the time (VampireKitty, Darren, Jimbo) decided shortly after my stunt of stealing the Foxhound, a custom made vehicle thought to be Devildoggamer's personal vehicle among the aimless populace, that we would unite the random population, and retake the Foxhound after it was stolen back. Although, we failed at retaking that legendary Foxhound, Blackrock manage to have fun, and unite gamers who had no place.

The few months that Hard Corps 2.0 was available, that blue betty van, full of strangers, grew the roots of which the group would grow into as time past.

Since Hard Corps 2.0, Blackrock PMC has actively participated in numerous DayZ servers, and has seen, and done it all nearly. From epic base raids to running a bus service for fresh spawns, BPMC has been in fun and engaging times. When the closing shop of Gamespy occurred, DayZ slowed to a crawl, and BPMC having done all they could left in search of a new medium. They played various games ranging from Guns of Icarus to Space Engineers meeting friends along the way. Although, hardships occurred, and struggles at times presented the group with disbandment. We pushed through.

Blackrock PMC is a group that I will always be proud of helping build, because of it's resilience to survive. It may not be the most experienced, the better trained, or largest, but it surely is one of the best, and I'll see it to the end.

What it means to be Blackrock

You don't earn a place to become Blackrock, but rather you make one. Being Blackrock, isn't about having experience or skills. It is about being who you are. The meaning of being in this group is what you make it. I've always told newcomers to the group, "Your Blackrock, when you ask to be on the roster." We're a group naturally designed to be open to the "homeless" gaming population. Deciding to be on that roster means you feel like your home when you enter that Teamspeak channel. And that is all there is to it.
