The crew of The 1UP Show was laid off after UGO’s purchase of 1UP.com. This is where we’ve landed.

Area 5’s named after the last (and our favorite) area of the game Rez, and we’re going to continue to do what we do best—make the best gaming shows that we can. Area 5’s first original show is CO-OP, a weekly look at the meaningful, the important, the interesting, or the just plain fun games that are out there or will be coming out.

Yes, we sorta left Jason in the dust last week, but we make it up to him with a good ol' fashioned summer BBQ resplendent with delicious eats! We figured it would be a good idea to take some cameras along and reminisce about the week's gaming adventures. And yes, that screenshot is, indeed, JayFresh partaking directly from the mini-keg. The more things change, the more things stay the same. It's another year in gaming which means more capture-the-flag, multiplayer gameplay. Luckily for us there's Fat Princess; a downloadable title for the PS3 which mixes that ancient (in terms of gaming history) concept with some RTS and throws on bit of cute and a lot of violent on top of some beat-em-up to give you the most unique multiplayer experience so far this year. David Ellis steps out of the 1UP offices for some lunch-time discussion with Matt and Cesar about the great time they're all having with the Beta.
