Brian Taylor, the Commanding Officer of the 22nd Infantry Regiment, began his first realism service in another unit in Day of Defeat 1.3. At the time, Taylor was merely a Sergeant, commanding the most prestigious squad of the unit: S2. This was an elite squad of the finest players that even the UWFL had seen, consisting of members such as P. Shooter, S. Nguyen, and M. Clayton. The 2nd Infantry Division was a highly appraised name in the days of DoD 1.3, and with the transfer into Source, they only built a better, stronger, and bolder name for themselves among the community. The unit was strong, until it hit a decline in December of 2009, when many of the senior officers of the 2nd ID retired from active duty, leaving the unit without the guidance of an able Commanding Officer. From there, the 2nd ID was given a proper send off, and was left alone with all of its former glory. Some months later, nearing upon one year, Brian Taylor took it upon himself to create his own Day of Defeat Source unit. With the assistance of realism community players such as Marc Clayton and Sam Twobles, came the 22nd Infantry Regiment. Here we are today, still with our able commanding headquarters and officers, leading the unit to live to fight another day.

The 22nd IR: CO Election and other news

After a recent series of events, from a merge with the 2nd ID to a split back, the 22nd IR is officially going to remain the same unit it once was merely one week ago. Nothing has changed, other than Commanding Officer Brian Taylor may be stepping down depending on which unit he decides to conduct himself with and a new CO may be placed, as well a a new HQ.

For the time being, we are going to establish a vote on the 22nd IR forums to hear your opinion on who should be the new Commanding Officer of the 22nd IR, as you all should have a say in who the leader should be.

Anyone can choose a person to nominate, under the conditions that they are currently in the unit as of right now. Please, only nominate a candidate if both you and them are serious in handling this role, can fulfill the duties of the role, and most importantly, will have the time to conduct as a Commanding Officer.
