Any help or hints from those who managed it?

I just finished chapter 6. However, I don't remember what I did and have no idea why it worked and why what I did before didn't work. I thought the pulsors just reversed what was sent into them but they seem to save up reactions if there are two of them and then release the action on the next turn? I had no ice left and then used a non-ice command and ice reappeared out the other end. Is this like some kind of capacitor that holds onto a pulse until something causes it to release? Anyway I am enjoying ...

I am trying to wrap my mind about the rules for chapter 2, but I think im missing something obvious. Things I press seems to act randomly with no seeming thought to them.
