Hello Looters!
First, an important technical update regarding Gems. The amount of gems being farmed from bosses was way higher than we originally anticipated. Because of this, we had to rewrite the internal logic for how gems handle data. This means old gems cannot stack with newly dropped gems.
We know this isn't optimal, but it was crucial for the game's performance. We highly recommend combining your existing gems before updating since it you CANNOT combine them anymore after update.

New Companion
We’ve added a new early-game friend: the Gilded Companion. This can be bought very early on from the Permanent Upgrades menu for just 1 Million Gold.

Quality of Life & UI Improvements

UI Clarity: We’ve added a breakdown of "Active Gear Effects" to both the Equipment and Prestige views.
New Tab: Achievements and Leaderboards have moved to their own dedicated tab for easier access.
Keyboard Support: Added support for Esc to cancel/close and Enter to continue/confirm actions.
Expeditions: Added an Auto-Restart functionality! Once you are strong enough, you can fully idle your way through them.
Bulk Use: You can now use as many potions as you desire with one click. You can also open all Scrap Caches instantly!
Auto-Salvage: Improved the auto-salvage filter. You can now filter by wiki favourites.
Sorting: Added a new sorter for gear: Sockets (High -> Low).
Socketing Flow: The game now remembers which gem stack you selected, so you can insert gems into multiple items without going back and forth.
Synchronous Backups: The game now maintains three separate backup files for extra safety.

Balance Changes

Buff: Increased the amount of gems sold by the Traveling Merchant and the Shop.
Cap: Some players (we won't name names... but yes, you) managed to acquire so many books that the library ran out! For this reason, Tomes are now capped at 1,000.

Prestige question

Hey there, i've been trying the itch.io version (demo) and i've done my first prestige, first thing i'm thinking about after doing it and seeing the requirement go up is, couldn't i softlock myself if i don't make good decision as to when to prestige ? I was expecting genuine infinite prestige with this sentence on the game page : "grow infinitely powerful with gem crafting and prestige systems" The prestige system doesn't seem very infinite (even the hunt requirement go up)...

Feedback on Game

I'm probably not the target audience, but I do like incrementals/idles of short-moderate length, so I thought I'd give it a whirl. Some specific issues: 1) I start the game initially, and it doesn't auto-attack. I have to kill things until I loot a belt, and then it auto-attacks. Why is that? 2) The costs of things increases way faster than my ability to generate gold or scrap. Probably means that future loops will be better, but it also means early prestiges will be less optimal increases in power. 3)...

Magic find.

so from what i read it only increases the rarity of drops, but nothing else, is that actual or is there no way to get drops with better sockets except for potions? other wise i feel silly for getting my magic find to 1.6k lol and yes im aware of the scrap increase per percentage of magic find....

traveling merchant

The traveling merchant doesn't appear for me after I switched to the 2nd save file to manage prestiges more correctly. I've already done 2 prestiges and even opened the 2nd world, and he still doesn't appear. What could it be?

Save Reset

I lost all progress, my save did reset. Not sure if it was because of the cloud sync or if my local save got corrupted. There needs to be a failsafe like Bitburner is doing it when it detects two different save states. Also i could not find a local save file. It needs a backup function. I will not play that game again until this got implemented....

[2.0.2} Stationary Shop & Merchant

Hello looters!

Our beloved merchant is finally back in town after wandering through all the nearby pubs to bring you the finest drinks and rarest goodies. While he was spending an enormous amount of time away, we realized he should not be the only source of Awakening Scrolls. Therefore, a new stationary shop has been added to the game! It offers all the same goods the merchant would, but without his amazing deals.

Small bug fixes were also made related to gem drops, and hover UIs received a bit more polish.

We hope this update finally brings peace to your prestiges!

[2.0.1] QoL Better be safe than sorry

Hello looters!

Its time for our first Quality of Life update on steam. The most critical improvement in this patch addresses a major bug where unexpected shutdowns (like a power outage) could potentially corrupt your save file. We have now implemented backups to prevent this from happening. Your progress is now significantly safer.

Improvement & changes:

UI Zoom Added: You can now adjust the UI scale from 75% to 125% in the Settings panel to find your perfect fit.

Multi-Save Performance: Significant performance improvements have been made for players running multiple save slots at the same time.

Default Save Slot: You can now set your favorite save file to be the default one that launches when you start the game.

Generous Merchant: The Traveling Merchant has found a surplus of scrolls and will now offer them much more frequently in his shop.

Bug Fixes:
Fixed known issues in hunt modal
Monsters can no longer be dragged around
Item tooltips in the Expedition loot table now correctly displays details.
Fixed a couple typos in the item names
Fixed issue with merchant for old itch saves (more details below)

A huge thank you to everyone for your continuous support and incredibly detailed bug reports. They have been essential in tracking down these issues.

FOR OLD ITCH PLAYERS THAT DID AUTOMATED IMPORT
Please follow these steps carefully!
WARNING: This process involves your save files. Please back them up first.

Step 1: Export Your Save File
Launch Idle Looter.
Go to the Settings menu.
Click "Export Save to Clipboard".
Paste the long string of text into a safe place, like a Notepad or TextEdit file. Save this file to your desktop.

Step 2: Disable Steam Cloud
Close the game.
In your Steam Library, right-click on Idle Looter and select "Properties...".
On the "General" tab, uncheck the box that says "Keep game saves in the Steam Cloud...".

Step 3: Delete the Local Data Folder
Press the Windows Key + R on your keyboard to open the "Run" dialog box.
Type \%APPDATA% and click OK.
In the folder that opens, find the folder named "Idle Looter" and delete it.

Step 4: Restore Your Save
Launch Idle Looter again through Steam. It will look like a brand-new game.
Open the text file where you saved your export string and copy the entire string.
In the game, go to Settings and click "Import Save from Clipboard".
The game will reload with all your progress restored. You can now close the game.

Step 5: Re-enable and Sync Steam Cloud
Go back to the game's "Properties..." in Steam.
Re-check the box to enable Steam Cloud.
Launch the game one final time.
Steam should now show a "Cloud Sync Conflict" window. This is expected! Choose the option to "Upload to the Steam Cloud". This will replace the old, buggy cloud save with your newly fixed local save.

After completing these steps, the merchant bug and other potential issues from migrating your save will be permanently resolved. Thank you again for your patience as we worked through this tricky issue
