Vital Shell is a PS1 game you watched your friend's older brother play at a sleepover in 1997 (complimentary)

It feels like one of those holy grail bargain bin games you used to be able to find in the now-extinct media sections of grocery stores which you'd pick up as a compromise for that really cool adult rated game you actually wanted or rather something more affordable at the time.

The music slaps, the graphical design is FIRE and the HUD is crazy reminiscent of PS1-era games, font and all. I cannot recommend just dropping the small amount that this game costs for probably one of the best games you'll end up playing this quarter.

For every 10 cookie cutter Survivor-likes there's 1 that's oozing vibes and passion. This is that game. Enemy variety is a little lacking but the cool environments and satisfying explosions make up for it. Meta-progression is also a little more interesting than your typical "spend currency for minor upgrade". For the price, I'm more than happy with the amount of content I see here and look forward to 100%ing it!
