Then give this game a go.

Despite The Children of Clay being a game jam project (explaining the brevity), it's a really cool horror genre entry.
I think the developer accidentally laid out solid groundwork, mechanic-wise, if they wanted to expand on it.
As a standalone story, the game's an exquisite little gem, but I could totally see it as a larger thing about an archaeologist inspecting weird artifacts as horrors unravel around them.

Very cool atmosphere, very frightening without it actually relying on jumpscares and loud noises. I very much enjoyed the premise of researching something to approach the story. I do wish the book system at least had a list of things you searched for or opened, but other than that, I liked it a lot, despite the brevity of the game.
