Hidden Cats: Thief is a cat-themed, hidden object game developed and published by FM Simple Games Studio and Sons of Welder. As usual, these cute kitties are up to no good. Their latest scheme is to steal money and priceless artifacts from a museum. Your mission is to find all 100 of these thieves as well as to find any hidden artifacts.

As for the gameplay, you're initially given one scene, which is the museum. You have to find all 100 cat thieves as well as any hidden artifacts by clicking on them with your left mouse button. You can drag the scene by holding the right mouse button and moving your mouse around. Scrolling the mouse wheel enables you to zoom in and out of the scene. After you complete the first scene, a bonus scene is unlocked, which takes place in the same museum. However, instead of cats, you have to find 100 rubber chickens as well as any hidden artifacts. Same gameplay mechanics apply. Lots of Steam achievements are present in both scenes, but they won't count towards a user's global total until the game is out of "Steam is learning about this game".

For those who read my reviews and especially follow my curator (link will be provided at the end of this review), it's probably no surprise by now that I enjoy hidden object games. The ones by this developer are among my favorites ever since I played 100 Hidden Cats: Pirates. Of course, I'm happy that there's another cat-themed HOG and that I got a chance to play it and share my thoughts. ^^ First, I love how the cats are thieves this time. Although I'm not sure if this is the first such game, I couldn't help but smile a bit since I know that the cats are being mischievous more than anything. However, the gameplay is the heart of this game. It was pretty doable to find all of the cats, especially with the zoom function. However, there is no hint option, like in a lot of HOGs, so if you have trouble finding a few of those elusive objects, you might need to consult a guide, like this one:

In this latest HOG by the developer, a few easter eggs in the form of museum artifacts are present. This is a great addition to finding the usual cats and rubber chickens. It makes the game more fun and immersive. As is usually the case with these HOGs, lots of Steam achievements are present and they're all obtainable. They come in the form of cats, rubber chickens, and museum artifacts. Even though I didn't encounter any technical issues, I wish that there was a windowed mode option.

As for the art, it's in the usual hand-drawn, cozy style that I like from this developer. It has that comic book style feel, and it's detailed enough that you can imagine being at the museum and witnessing the cute kitties committing burglary. XD

Regarding the music, a few tracks are present, and they have a relaxing, lo-fi beat to them. The tracks cycle, so you can play the game at your own pace as you're looking for those mischievous cats and any other elusive items.

Overall, would I recommend Hidden Cats: Thief? If you like cat-themed hidden object games and/or want to play a game with lots of Steam achievements, then this is certainly worth checking out. For the asking price, it's affordable, but you can always wait for a sale, and it's in a few Steam bundles, so you can save a bit if you already have the other games in them.

The new game in the series of the same name. As always spectacular artwork, silly sounds and an enthusiastic yay when finishing the level.

This time, our little cat friends have decided to become thieves! Of course, that means finding them in a vault full of treasures and valuable objects that should probably be in a museum or actually, it could be a museum's vault now that I think about it.

The game had some improvements including the addition of at least 4 new music tracks.

Now, the greatest surprise came when I clicked on a vent window with the hope it would open as I always do, and then it did!! A funny looking fish head popped up. I was SO happy I even did my happy dance. These objects that felt they should be interacted with, finally were!

My new objective: CLICK ON EVERYTHING! I must say, I had so much fun finding all the secrets,

Honestly I can't really describe how ecstatic this made me. After repeatedly mentioning this, sounding like a broken record, in possibly every Hidden Cats and Fish review. seeing this was like a birthday present to me.

Overall, it’s a great short hidden object game with some awesome new secrets to find, 2 levels- each with 100 cats - and rubber chickens- to find. Great music and tons of achievements to add to your list.

The game is okay. There are two levels where you find 100 cats and then 100 rubber chickens. They are pretty easy to find and this part does not take much time at all. There are also hidden artifacts to find in both levels, and these take more time to find because they can be anywhere in either level. It takes around 25 minutes to fully complete, which is okay I guess for the price.
