Amenti is Honestly worth every bit of the price (7 bucks), it's a very visually stunning game from the atmosphere to the scares and enemy design. However this is a walking sim, so if you aren't a fan of you local haunted house, then you probably won't like it. That being said I had a blast with it, and highly recommend it to anyone that wants a short but engaging horror experience

Amenti is a fun and short yet terrifying horror experience that will certainly satisfy both thrill seekers and would-be egyptologists alike. To say that Ancient Egypt as a setting and/or theme is underutilized is honestly putting it mildly and it's a shame that more developer's aren't tapping into the very potential in which Amenti presents. For the price, it's really a no-brainer. The only reason to NOT recommend it is if you're simply not into horror games. Other than that, I see no reason why you shouldn't at least give it a try; 8/10


I'm not going to sugar coat it; Amenti's environments and visuals are f***ing gorgeous and can be downright photorealistic at times. 9 times of 10, I don't really care for photorealism but in this case; it truly carries the game's aesthetic and atmosphere; being fully immersed in its heavy omnipresent atmosphere. Even if it wasn't a horror game, just simply roaming around and taking in detail of the Egyptian Tombs is a treat to behold and is the next best thing to actually visiting the real thing.


This portion of the review is where you really start to see the flaws in the design. While not being absolutely terrible, performance and optimization can be improved by quite a bit. For starters, the visual settings leaves a lot to be desired;

• No option to adjust the Gamma and Brightness (How and why this is absent is beyond me, ESPECIALLY in a horror game which is straight up mandatory as far as I'm concern)
  
• No way to disable Motion Blur as it's tied into the Post-Processing (really wish developers would STOP doing this, please just make it two separate options, especially when this game uses a very aggressive form of Motion Blur)
  
• Changing the Video Quality settings doesn't seem to actually do anything, at least visually. Performance wise, you can definitely tell that it's doing something as my framerate nearly doubles when lowering them to low setting but visually speaking; there's virtually no difference between Low settings and High Settings.
  
• Both Visual and Sound ques/context sensitive interactivity is either bugged or outright missing as it can be very difficult to distinguish what you can and cannot interact with; basically forcing you to randomly click on almost everything you see and/or hear.

Overall, a very enjoyable albeit flawed horror game for less than $10. I can't really complain too much given its price and overall length but the overall execution is more than satisfactory.
