Alternate Ending? Hidden content?

Spoilers, obviously. Is there any way to end the Life/Fossil chapter without getting a lobotomy? And, on that note, has anyone cracked the safe yet?

Demo Update 1.00.03

Changes:

Title screen fix for users reporting that the only the background image was appearing
Added a Mac Build (currently built to 1.00.02)

Dev Blurb:
A temporary fix of pressing "Enter" on the title screen will additionally start the game for now. Please let me know if there are still issues reaching the game. (Might need a fresh install on Steam)

Changes:

Added FPS options in Visual Settings
Fixed typos in Words and Story
Pause Menu has been partially revamped and properly remembers options
Fix volume controls issue at 0
Fix Resolution option not being clickable
Add versioning to main menu and pause
Compressed game to be much smaller than before

Considering the replayability it would be pretty nice for the game to remember the words you unlock in-between runs.

Just started this game, how did things spiral out of control this quick

https://youtu.be/6rZTnOhjnTg?feature=shared This game is crazy, you could get them to cough up so much info and lore drop just from literally TWO words, I didn't even know how I got here and I don't think I can replicate it without any recordings, thankfully they could be sorted by time. I also unlocked Obsession but regrettably after the hint they gave in the bedroom. There's also a passcode for the safe, I managed to unlock it using the sashimi's name but does it ...

Missing menu?

So I just installed the game about 10 minutes ago and booted up the demo and I get the title screen but there's no menu? Like there's no "Begin Demo" "Settings" or "Quit", just the title screen. I reinstalled it a few times and it doesn't seem to fix it. Anyone else having a similar issue?...
