New Features

Wildcards Game Mode
In this brand new game mode, we’re breaking all the rules! Each player chooses a card to dynamically change the game. Will yours be a curse… or a blessing? Try out different combinations for unexpected results! Shrink everyone down to 50% of their size, add a bullet proof vest to the Toy Vendor, or set everyone on fire if they stand still during the match… just to name a few!

Guest Pass Edition
Invite up to five of your friends to play Midnight Murder Club with you for no additional cost! Guest Pass Edition is a free* download that allows you to play all modes as often as you like, as long as you have a friend with the full edition hosting the lobby. Guest Pass players can play in private matches (With a paying host) or join matchmaking (with a paying host leading your party and being the one to join the matchmaking queue).
*You do need PS+ on PS5 to play, and there are some regions that can't list M-rating-equivalent downloads for free, so the cost legally has to be something like $0.25 or $1.00 or similar, but we're pricing it as low as we legally can in those regions.

Free-for-All and Team Deathmatch Bots
Want to keep exploring the mansion's shadows after your game night is over? Consider bots your fill-in friends when your entire party just can’t make it.

Rematch
Get matched with some foes that keep you on your toes, and find yourself with a beef that can only be settled with another match? Now, in public matchmaking, bring the whole group back for another round… and another… and another…

DOA?

I've been waiting for this game but as of today, noticed that it's a huge slop. Whether its PSN Requirement (excluding many players around the world) or its ridiculous pricing. Prices are all over the place for different regions. They are literally trying to sell the game for around 23$ in MENA region. Oh well, I guess this is a perfect example of one's shooting themselves on the foot....

Midnight Murder Club adds Guest Pass and Wildcards mode

Welcome back to the Midnight Murder Club. Here at Velan Studios, we’ve been toiling away in the shadowy halls of Wormwood Manor, coming up with fresh, new ways for you to hunt your friends in the darkness. We’ve got a new game mode to announce and an exciting new way to get your friends in on the fighting!

Midnight Murder Club is a first-person shooter/party game where you and five friends hunt each other in the pitch-black rooms of the mysterious Wormwood Manor.* Armed with only a revolver and a flashlight, search the shadows for every flicker of light and every bump in the night as you stalk your prey. The tension turns to hilarity as you discover just how tricky it is to navigate and shoot in complete darkness! You sprint toward your friends' shouting voices echoing through the mansion, only to bump into someone else hiding in a dark corner! Shots ring out, luring the other hunters to your location. Every flash of light is the promise of a deadly firefight. This is Midnight Murder Club.

New Game Mode: Wildcards

On top of the existing Free for All, Thief in the Night, Team Deathmatch, and Headhunters modes, we’re excited to introduce a brand-new mode that lets you break the rules like never before! In the new Wildcards game mode, players will play cards from their collection that change the rules for everyone in-game in wild new ways! From hijacking the toys that appear in vendors, to giving everyone super speed, to exploding into flames when you die—use these cards to show your wild side! Then, when the dust settles and the match is over, you’ll be gifted brand new cards to add to your collection giving you even more ways to change the game. In the new Wildcards game mode, it looks like chaos is in the cards!

Play at no additional cost with the Midnight Murder Club Guest Pass Edition!

We know that playing with friends is the best way to play any game and with the Midnight Murder Club Guest Pass Edition, it’s easier than ever! Midnight Murder Club Guest Pass Edition allows your friends to join your game and play for no additional cost!

To put it simply: If one person buys the game, they can invite up to five Guest Pass Edition players to play together for no additional cost in public or private matches, in all current game modes, as much as you want.

We're really excited about the Guest Pass Edition because Midnight Murder Club is the perfect party game to play with friends. Now players can simply invite their friends into the club and let the mayhem begin.

Burning the Midnight Oil

To sum it up, we’re adding the brand-new Wildcards game mode and introducing a brand-new way to play with friends with the Guest Pass Edition. That’s a lot of new development work! Because of that, we’re going to need a little more time, so we’re pushing our Early Access launch date to March 13th, 2025. The full version of the game will be available for $19.99 (or equivalent in your region), and the Guest Pass Edition will be launching on the same day for no additional cost.

As a member of the Midnight Murder Club, your opinion on the direction the club should go matters! We’re really excited about evolving this game with the community as we continue developing through Early Access. We want your opinions and ideas, which will help shape our roadmap (which we’ll be sharing before launch!). Early Access Review

This is a fantastic game! I really enjoyed the beta for this, and am happy to see that the early access version is just as satisfying, with an all new wild cards mode and some other additions that are really fun and keep the matches fresh! An awesome game to hop on for quick rounds with your friends or randoms, and have a blast. Hilarious matches, fun voip interactions, unique gameplay, and the game "works." In and out of matches quickly, and seems quite polished. A good amount of different game modes to play. This game is special and will always be fun to hop on and play, not to mention that five friends can play for free with you as long as one of you own the game, which is very generous of the studio. This is a great filler game, but doesn't have to be a filler game... You could play for hours with randoms and still have a good time. No longer will you sit staring at your steam library wondering what to play, when you can hop on here to have some casual, relaxed fun while you're just chilling. I would highly recommend picking up this game for a good time, you won't be disappointed!!!

A great fun little game to play with friends. Only just started but enjoying myself. The only annoying thing is signing in to PSN but that shouldn't go against it.

Network Error 1.49#-1971322611

im getting this error on both the guest pass and full game on bazzite (fedora-based) as well as a steam deck. I see the Network error message in the top right corner. I also get a popup that says "NETWORK ERROR DETECTED" "Please try again shortly."
