We are working harder than ever to release Dead Weight. So hard that we needed a break.

Last week we decided to take an opportunity to participate in a gaming convention. We even got our own booth!

Meeting Dead Weight fans IRL was incredible! Now we are full of energy and are ready to continue the development! Stay tuned for updates!

Running out of fuel in the prologue

Every ship ran away after refueling at the town and I was unable to attack any of them. Problem is, the game autosaved me with 120ish fuel between my attempt to get to them and my next attempt so there's literally no way to reach any of them after that without redoing the tutorial. Annoying....

The New Demo Playtest is About to Begin

The playtest of the new demo is about to start! To request access, press the button on the Dead Weight Steam page.

We will begin granting access this Friday!

During the playtest, you'll be able to play the new demo and experience some of the new gameplay mechanics, such as INSANITY and FATIGUE. For the duration of the playtest, we will delist the old demo from Steam, so there won't be any confusion.

After you're done playing, don't forget to fill out the feedback form. It will help us a lot!

Why can't I use the tree improvements in the demo? How is leveling up supposed to work?

My feedback(First Demo)

I don't know if is just me but the load times are too slow for the first time you encounter something new(slow shader caching?), i can play Skyrim and Warframe perfectly fine(stable 30 fps) and Starbound Linux(60 fps) on my laptop low-mid tier. I completed the prologue and played a little bit after the reset.(Played 2.4 hrs) General Feedback: Fuel consumption is too high, you could potentially softlock yourself. Either reduce the base cost or add an upgrade. You could add consumables too. ...
