All the team at 58BLADES and I want to thank you all deeply, truly

Steam Next Fest was a very exciting time. It was the first time we ever shared Handmancers openly, and let me tell you, we got blown away by your positivity and feedback about the game.

Handmancers was the top35 most played demo of the event

It has now being played by more than 25.000 people and for more than 51.200 hours (almost 6 years!!!).

What's next?

We are looking forward to take as much as possible of the hundreds of feedbacks that we received - and are still receiving - into account as we keep developing the game and working towards Early Access!

We care deeply about your opinions, feedback, ideas and suggestions. Our aim is to keep developing the game with our community throughout the way, making it the best version of Handmancers it can be.

We already uploaded an updated build with some of the feedback we received, so there might already be something new for you to try if you played the demo during the event.

Can't win boss fight? Also, game thoughts.

I don't know if I am doing something wrong, but I run out of cards to use half way through the boss fight. Is this fight not winnable in the demo? Game seems cool, but the demo is pretty bare bones. The art style is what drew me in, it looks like it has potential. The rock, paper, scissor aspect is a different take to deck-builders i'll give you that, but I hope there is more to it then just matching what card/color win or lose against each other. Ideas about balance

1) The CRAMP cards, especially on the goblin king boss - where I don't have any effect to remove them - it's an auto loss. No possibility to beat the boss. 2) Draws counts as win for the goblin king boss - especially when I don't have any effects on my cards so soon in the game... If it's on a 4th boss - ok, but so soon in the game - it's too hard for me. 3) Random cards on enemies later in the game - how to create my strategy ? Empower adds damage to all my rings, and every siren event gave me another pair of glasses for damage on every card, so I basically stomped everyone just from playing cards. Until the second major boss added some sort of spike buff and I lost because I won too much. Which was strange to me cause I thought I read its reflect buff correctly as "the next time it wins an action it hits me for X damage". I'm not sure how well the spike kind of buff translates to an RPS game where you have to play cards. The "...

quite easy if you think a bit ahead

So every time I start a new playthrough I just take the first artifacts etc. without a second thought but then ask myself what kind of other stuff could pair well with it, because of the limited lenght of the playthrough. Because of this I just had a run where I didnt even need to end my turn in the last bossfight, The run went like this: I played with Arturo and as one of the first relics i got the ring of the double pan(which inflicts stun to yourself and the enemy each time you inflict stun, obviosly do...

So many pauses

I am sorry to say that a LOT of the UI polish goes directly against my ability to play quickly and smoothly. There is so much I wanted to be able to turn off. The hit-pause on each card resolution, the buff change icons that slowly fade in and out on the right side of the screen even though the tiny buff counters themselves are on the left side, the victory animation that takes time to skip, the forging animation, the siren animation, oh wow the siren animation...
