The team and I thought it would be a good idea to give you all an “End of the Year” update on everything that has happened over the past few months and a glimpse of what is coming to Cast Out Colony in 2025! Let’s get to it, shall we?


Back in September we let the community voice for the next character that will be joining the game in the full release of Cast Out Colony. Across all socials, discord, steam comments, etc., the winner and newest addition to the playable roster is…

Buck & Wild!

It ended up being a close race between Mosquiteer and Buck & Wild, but the duo pulled off the victory. I hope you all enjoy playing as them, whether you voted for or against the cowbug and his noble steed!

We’ve had them in the game internally since the end of October and they made their first public appearance at GDEX 2025, a game development convention in Columbus, Ohio. Some of you with dragonfly eyes might have noticed we updated the trailer with new footage of Buck & Wild around that time. We got to use the event as playtesting for the new character (they were quite a popular pick) and players really enjoyed the character’s overall play style. If you are reading this and you were at the convention, thank you so much for stopping by, playing the game, chatting with us, and showing your support! Oh, and since we are talking about GDEX…

WE WON A FREAKIN’ AWARD!

Although there were TONS of awesome games on display, we were honored to receive the Best in Show - Unreleased Game! This award means a lot to the team not only as a reflection of hard work paying off, but it also comes from our hometown! We love being a part of the Columbus game dev scene, and hope to continue to contribute for years to come!

We have spent the past few months polishing up Cast Out Colony for a full v1.0 release. Although we don’t have an exact release date yet, we can say that you all will be able to play all the new content very soon!

Something that we do want to be transparent about is that upon v1.0 release, the price of that game will be increasing very slightly. We wanted to have a lower price point during Early Access as a “thank you” for players willing to trust us to complete this game. Since release back in April, the game’s content has grown so much and we appreciate all of you that have backed us with your support and feedback.

Lastly, as a bit of a gift from us to you, we wanted to share the new Arena that you all will be able to play very soon!
