WEEKLY UPDATE!! 11/18/24

Apologies for the late post! I ran into an issue yesterday on the highway while returning home from my sister’s place. My car stopped accelerating in the middle of traffic! I avoided getting into an accident and managed to safely pull over and wait for my car to get towed. I had no idea what happened to it until I took it to the shop today. The fuel pump apparently short circuited, which caused me to slow down to a stop. Thankfully, everything was still under warranty, so the worst is behind me (I Hope). I appreciate your patience and understanding with the delay. Without further ado, here is the latest update!

Big thanks to everyone who participated in Contract Contest #11, both the voters and anyone who submitted their ideas! The contest has come to a close and the winner has been chosen. The next contract will be “The Daughter of Darkwood” by RobTheNomad! Congratulations to them! I’ll begin working on the art and start sharing some of it in next week’s update!

Speaking of art, that’s what I’ve been focusing my time on. This week I finished the colors and expressions for the new Gorgon character, Kyless. You can check out a preview of her here:

Working on facial expressions is one of the most engaging parts of the creative process for me. So much of a character’s personality is brought to life during this stage. After refining the expressions needed for specific scenes, I like to experiment by sketching a variety of expressions to see what emerges. Sometimes, it feels like I can almost hear the character’s voice in my head, and their mannerisms and actions just come naturally. I get the sense that I understand Kyless much better now, as well as Effie, the character that I am currently working on. I'll have plenty more to share with you in the following weeks as we are still early in this update cycle.

I am Stuck on the Final End Boss Alexandria. I have to destroy the Malispheres but I can not change the Target and only attack her. How can I change the target?

For the second quest in this update, Eve will leave a contract for Mila once you've completed a certain number of tasks. This quest is deeply personal to Eve, as she has long been searching for her younger sister, Effie.

For years, Eve believed her sister was lost to the world, but new information has surfaced that suggests Effie might still be alive. Unfortunately, her fate is tied to a sadistic Gorgon named Kyless, who cursed her to a fate of petrification.

Eve, once a victim of this curse herself, now knows that there’s hope for Effie. If the Gorgon is defeated, the stone curse can be broken—assuming Effie’s lifeforce hasn’t already been drained from her stone form. This quest promises to be perilous, with potentially dire consequences for failure...

WEEKLY UPDATE 11/3/24!! & Contract Contest 11 now open!

The next update cycle for Crimson Veil has begun and for this update I will be holding another contract contest!

However, this one is special, because it will revolve around adding the final new Pet to the vampire route! This will be the last opportunity to add a party member to the game created by YOU! Be sure to read the rules below!

In addition to this quest, the next update will also include a second contract written by me. This contract will focus on Eve and give a bit of backstory on her.

The quest will also have players returning to an older location from the hunter route! I’ll be sharing some images with you next week of the sort of story this will be.

This last bit is for Patreon supporters. As I mentioned a few months ago, the billing structure has now changed to comply with Apple’s imposed policies. What new and returning patrons need to know is that they SHOULD NOT subscribe to me through the iOS app, as Apple will take a percentage of what you pledge to me if you do so. I understand that this is inconvenient, but there is not much that can be done about this on my end. My hope is that somehow Patreon will push back on these predatory practices from Apple, but until then, it is what it is. Regardless, thank you always for your continued support.

Not receiving Mesmerize

In the start of the Vampire Route after you receive your Cursed Whip it said in the Walkthrough that it was supposed for you to get the Mesmerize Skill, but idk why i am not getting it, is it a bug or has it changed and the Walkthrough has not been updated?...

Vampire option which is never included

First off, great game and I appreciate that it exists. Most games just portray vampires as wizard ninjas who shoot blood bolts instead of fire bolts and turn into bats instead of shadow stepping. Games which actually portray vampires as manipulative parasitic puppet masters (that are dangerous because of their unnatural social interaction domination) are practically non-existent. So I'm not making the claim this would have been worth the developer's effort to include, it just causes me to facepalm as ever...
