It would be great to have an option to highlight the player character with something like an outline for their tile or an icon on the tile. When you're as bad as me at the game and start new runs again and again it's easy to forget in the heat of battles who your character is (especially if you've cloned yourself), I know you can examine each tile but have something you can use to tell who you are at a glance would be really helpful IMO....

I am very interested in this game but I do have one concern. I am the type of player who prefers to play as one character alone with no NPC companions. Is the game balanced around having companions such that it would be very difficult or impossible to win without them?...

I know I suck at roguelikes, but am I really THAT bad? I stumbled upon this game a few days ago when its Steam release was announced, and soon found out that there is a free version. So I played that for a few hours, and my feelings are mixed. There's a lot to like in this game; the graphics, the variety of the generated rooms, the funny speech bubbles, and especially the sounds make a huge difference. The option to play in ASCII graphics is also much appreciated; the more "abstract" look of these symbol...

How does it work exactly? I from the description of spirit and animate dead i thought it was spirit mod (min of 1) + magic/5 rouded down. so at level 1 you can get 4 with a proper build. At floor 4 i still got 4 even when i had +5 spirit mod and 12 magic which should be 7...

Just wondering if there is a difference?
