MAN i wish i liked this game. the times where you're doing backflips and ♥♥♥♥ to take out groups of enemies with surgical precision while avoiding getting hit are so damn fun and addictive... but the game would rather make you drive around mostly empty open areas and backtrack to places you've already been to do side quests. the game is also horrible at telling you where to go at some points, the worst part is when you have to do an unmarked sidequest in order to get to a main area and there's absolutely no indication that that's what you're meant to do. if the game was structured like a standard level-based game and leaned into the sheer fun of the motorcycle combat it would be perfect. a metroidvania just doesn't really fit with this kind of gameplay.
