New Launch Date + New Demo

Attention Clockmakers, we have two big updates to share:

We have made the decision to shift the launch date for Hell Clock from June 18 to July 22. We’ve also today updated the Hell Clock demo with new content.

Why are we shifting to July? The main reason is the new Path of Exile league (3.26) dropping on June 13. It's bittersweet because as players we are very excited that our favorite game will have an update after a long time... but as indie developers of a small ARPG we simply cannot compete with a huge launch like that, so we are forced to delay.

The launch of Hell Clock is critical for our studio. We don't really get a second chance at this. And although June 18th was a perfect timing (right next to Steam Next Fest!), we hope that July 22nd will give us a fair shot at reaching ARPG and roguelike fans around the world.

We’re all big fans and PoE players, and it had a huge influence on the development of Hell Clock. We think it’s best to give Hell Clock some breathing room from that, let you guys (and our team) enjoy the new season, and then dive into Hell Clock a bit later.

On the plus side, this also gives us a bit more time to work on our endgame system, Ascension, which will be available as a Beta at launch in July. Previously, our plan was to launch Ascension a few weeks after launch.

For today, here’s what’s new in the demo:

More Hell - The demo has been extended from 14 to 17 floors.
English is in - Full English language voice over is now in the demo.
Chinese localization - Full text localization in simplified Chinese is now available.
Progression carries over - From here on out, there will be no further progression wipe. Any progress you make in the demo will carry over to launch.
Dual-stick controller support - You can now (optionally) use two sticks to aim and move in separate directions.
Many smaller improvements, Quality-of-Life and balance changes.

That’s right, while previous demo progression has been wiped today, all further progress will carry over to the launch version of Hell Clock!

We understand if you’re disappointed at having to wait longer to descend into Hell, and that demo progression has reset. We hope you’ll check out the new demo content, especially since it will stick from here on out. Enjoy the new PoE league, Hell will wait!

Great game but some things can be ironed out

Gold is too scarce for how valuable it is. This makes it feel almost necessary to break every box/jar/egg you come across and slows progression. Shooting down or up stairs does not function as well as shooting on flat land. Again, this is fixed by kiting backwards onto flat land to clear, which also slows progression. The mods you come across in game often don't match the relics you are using. I'd understand some variance, but it feels annoying when you level up 4 times in a row and don't get any mods fo...

The wait is over: Hell Clock, our fast-paced roguelike Action RPG inspired by the darkest chapter in Brazil’s history, is officially launching on June 18!

We first teased this journey into hellish purgatory months ago, and your response to the demo has been overwhelming — 96% positive reviews and tons of great feedback that helped us push the game further. Now, it’s finally time to sharpen your blades, prep your builds, and get ready to face the demons of Canudos.

⚔️ Action Meets History

Hell Clock isn’t just another ARPG — it’s a supernatural reimagining of a real, brutal conflict: the War of Canudos (1896–1897). In our version, this battle wasn't only fought by mortals — it was a hidden war between celestial and infernal forces. You play as Pajeú, a former slave turned warrior, whose soul is trapped in a twisted purgatory. Time is fractured, and the only way out is to fight your way through Hell, again and again, until you break the cycle.

Made With Love, Identity, and History

Hell Clock is a deeply personal project for us. Not only does it explore a dark and often forgotten chapter of Brazil’s history, but we also poured our hearts into honoring the culture and identity of the Brazilian Northeast. We choosed voice actors from Bahia - Brazil, the region where the story takes place, and worked hard to reflect its regional elements through visuals, music, and narrative. We’re proud to see people from all over the world discovering this part of Brazil through our game — and we hope many more will come to know and appreciate it.

Skills Feedback

One thing I realized towards the end of my time with the demo was that taking a full set of skills hurt my ability to progress. If I don't take the shadow dash which I was using for utility to dodge boss aoe, then it no longer competes with my damage skills for upgrades. Not sure how you could go about addressing this (maybe an upgrade in the tree that allows you to prevent one skill from upgrading?) but I progressed way faster by just taking the skill off my bar, and I'm sure it would be even stronger if ...
