This one is a tough one, because part of me wants to keep playing, while the other part of me is already kinda bored after an hour; The music and art-style are great and the game is easy to understand, even if you're not a roguelike/deck-builder aficionado.

To me, it's very much a game you can pick up and play for 30 minutes when you're bored and not sure what else to play, but it definitely isn't a "main game", or something I would personally see myself playing for tens of hours.

Firstly, forcing players to go through the main story on normal mode, before being able to unlock anything else is a terrible decision. If you lose/die during the story, what with this game being a roguelike, means you have to start the entire story over from scratch and it's aggravating. I was on the second-to-last story section for stage 1, decided to go up against a "tough enemy" and lost, because you only get 1 guaranteed chance to regen HP (when you're at the Inn after each section) and the guy had like 200 HP to my 50. All the other enemies I had faced where a cake-walk up until this point too. Yes, my fault for picking the fight, but I didn't realise how tough the "tough enemy" was going to be. Even stage 1 of the story is quite long, so restarting it from zero just makes this a slog.
It's quite telling that only ~25% of players have the achievement for completing the first stage of the story and I definitely cannot imagine playing through this multiple times just to unlock the hardest difficulty (for those who want to play that way).

It really doesn't help that the story writing is also quite "meh" and the fact that the name-plates for the characters don't update when you learn their names is also a bad decision. For example, having the "cute guide" stay as such when we find out her name is Mistrea or something in the second story section seems like a major oversight.

Another con, is that the UI is kinda messy in certain parts. For the most part it's fine, but the "prepare" and "skill selection" screens just slap everything in one area, making it hard to see what is what from a glance. Then there's fights where the player/enemies have tons of buffs and debuffs applied all at once and half the tooltips don't display, or create a giant box with a scroll-bar.

Lastly, in the first 25 minutes of play, I discovered a bug, where if you're at a campsite and click too quickly between Restore HP and Meditate, the options completely disappear, forcing you to go back to the main menu, or quit the game to do anything. Thankfully, I didn't lose any progress.

Edit: I ended up completing stage 1 of the story in around 1.5 hours and yeah, my enthusiasm to keep playing is bordering on nil. I would probably play some more if I could do some "adventure mode", but if I have another 2-3 hours of story mode to go through, I just can't be bothered.
