Have absolutely loved this game so far. Great strategy

This is a nice coffee break rogue-like, perfect for short sessions : a full run is around 30mn.
Pros
- very fun
- interesting progression mechanics
- many units
- tactical gameplay, more similar to TRPGs than Chess
- pretty original with some amusing weirdness

Cons
- my first impressions were not very good ; so I advise to persist a bit before quitting ;)
- some flaws in the game design department ; do not expect robust tactical gameplay
- Arcade mode using a timer (and you really need to play very quickly)
- the AI do the job but has some issues
- the scaling options are not much of use on a 4K screen

Conclusion: Even with many flaws, WizardChess succeeds to be a fun and addictive time waster. Not for everybody but still very recommended.

EDIT: This review was only about the Tournament mode. The Arcade mode is quite different : it is necessary to play as fast as possible to hope having an unlock as a reward (so this is a real time mechanic in a turn-based game). Sadly, you probably cannot unlock all the units without being good at this mode.
