Had my eye on this for a long time but have been on the fence largely due to the negative reviews. Has most of this reviews concerns been addressed and fun to play without any soft locking and poor execution of mechanics?

I've noticed the devs have kept to their word of updating and fixing, not just abandoning (Better late than never, etc). have they said to expect any further updates and if they're going to stop at a certain point? Or is it safe to buy the game now whilst on sale as it'll improve? I've read a lot of feedback over the last four years and it's still mixed, but it does look like a great concept piece....

The new limit on total units is a terrible game mechanic. You can't expect players to have teams on 3 hearts and minds missions with 3 security patrols in each sector while doing multiple 3 star difficulty missions at once. Ideally, you would want at least 2 transports, 2 infantry and a buffalo or husky for EACH ONE to prevent IEDs and have some survivability when they get ambushed before a QRF can be sent. That's a minimum of 5 for each patrol, which adds up to 25 in the first sector and 55 by the time ...

With the latest update downloaded, if I go into Drone feed while there is combat taking place, I get an infinite "Drone Loading" screen. No matter how long I wait, the screen is stuck. I can press escape and see the menu (and exit / load a new game), but my game is screwed :-(...

I'm trying to complete the Steam Achievements of this Game, but some Progress is just not being counted at all.
