I'm guessing this IS the damage received from Episode 2. Gordon has been shot, clawed, swam in toxic waste, and a whole lot of other ♥♥♥♥ during his adventures.

WOW!! I wonder what happend to him!! it's not like he got shot a thousand times, broke several bones, swam in toxic waste contaminated waters in several occasions and also got hit with dark energy orbs! ... If anything i'm surprised that from ALL OF THAT he only has 2 or 3 bulletholes and a bit of decayed fabric on the suit

the HEV suit prob tanked that ♥♥♥♥, and we never see the helmet (there is no way in hell that his glasses still survived on that ♥♥♥♥), and i doubt he broke any real bones. Also, if you're really good at the game you can avoid a lot of that ♥♥♥♥.
