Though the exploration of themes is a little more superficial and the story a little less interesting than prior outings, the gameplay and art direction definitely elevate the overall experience.

It was never likely to foster a 'competitive' scene, but the fact that someone finally took a proper swing at the idea of a totally customisable fighting game -- and it doesn't suck -- is a miracle.

Destiny 2 rides that fine line between being a hubworld-based shooter and a more traditional MMO, but as a title that's always evolving, it's steered a little more towards MMO than I would have liked.
