Pourquoi choisir l'accès anticipé ?

« Bourbon Empire has been in development by a sole (and first time game) developer for several years now. I’ve had the idea for this particular type of RTS for many years and after waiting (what seems like) forever for one to come out I finally decided to make it myself.
I’m eager to see how people will respond to the mechanics and the overall idea of an organized crime RTS. From early on this project became my career and I look forward to seeing it become a fun and challenging strategy game. »

Pendant combien de temps environ ce jeu sera-t-il en accès anticipé ?

« In all honesty I don’t have an answer at this point. As of the (intended) release date more than half of the single player campaign is ready (although some bug squashing still remains). My plan is to have the entire single player campaign completed and polished by the end of the year.
There is also the possibility (not guarantee) of a multiplayer feature that still needs a lot of work. I suspect that alone could take a whole year to complete. My overall goal is somewhere in early 2022. »

En quoi la version finale sera-t-elle différente de la version en accès anticipé ?

« Fully polished single player campaign. In addition, a number of additional challenge modes, one that includes a sort of mini campaign of ‘conquering’ different boroughs (each having their own set of challenges) of the city.
Overall I also fully expect to have the following additions:
- More buildings (some playable some not), cars, human characters, and a lot more music. (I personally love the music from this time period)
- An improved and more robust enemy AI, including enemies that can work together against the player.
- A night/day cycle. This is mostly complete; it just needs polishing and optimizing.
- Improved optimization for better performance.
- (Possibly, not guaranteed) server support for multiplayer.
- Achievements.

Quel est l'état actuel de la version en accès anticipé ?

« A single player challenge mode with a number of different scenarios. The gameplay mechanics are solid and ready for single player. The player can experience all functions of the RTS game itself. »

Le prix du jeu sera-t-il différent pendant et après l'accès anticipé ?

« Yes. There will be a discount during the entire Early Access period. Version 1.0 will simply drop that discount. »

Comment comptez-vous impliquer la communauté dans le processus de développement ?

« Although not completed at time of launch, there will be a bug reporting system that will act as the primary source of technical feedback. I plan on finalizing this feature first thing after launch, before completing the single player campaign.
I also plan to use the forums and social media to be constantly communicating back and forth with the players.

Best place to follow updates is the main twitter account and facebook. I also hope to add a youtube channel to show some single player campaign ideas. »

À propos de ce jeu

Bourbon Empire is a real-time strategy game set in New York City during Prohibition somewhere in the late 1920’s. Claim territory as your own, and profit from the rising bootlegging industry. But be aware, law enforcement can either be your greatest ally, or help in your destruction.

Conquer

Claim new territory within the city as your own. Collect protection payments from the various businesses and establishments within your neighborhoods. However, not all neighborhoods are the same, some have the potential to be far more profitable than others so pick your battles wisely.

Build Up Your Family

All those new neighborhoods are going to need some muscle to protect and manage it. Create capo units and assign gangsters from the neighborhoods to them. Deploy your crews to their respective districts and watch the money role in. Arm your gangsters with a variety of weapons from handguns to the classic tommy gun to explosives. Also watch them gain experience with every enemy they ‘whack’.
If you have money to spare, you can also purchase vehicles for your crews. Makes running around the city a whole lot easier.

Establish Illegal Businesses

Protection payments are nice and all (and it’s easy!) but the real money is in the rackets. Establish new enterprises ranging from loan sharking to speakeasies. Each type has their own pros and cons, so make sure you know what you’re getting yourself into ‘cause setting them up ain’t cheap.

Bourbon is the Name of the Game

Booze production, transportation, and sale in your ‘fine establishments’ will certainly help solve your financial woes. Alcohol is a precious commodity during this period and there never seems to be enough. It can both increase profits from some rackets and be a requirement for others to even function. Produce alcohol in modified warehouses, load up your trucks, and get it into your businesses.

Law Enforcement

No crime ever goes unnoticed. Every illegal activity creates some form of heat, if you let that heat get out of hand the police will step in. From imposing fines to arresting (temporarily removing) your muscle to outright shutting down your businesses, the cops can make life very unpleasant.
However, they can also be a real help. Greasing the right palms and having police on the payroll not only helps prevent heat from building up, but the police can also come to your aid whether they’re watching over your neighborhoods, raiding enemy establishments, or even protecting your booze shipments from rival families.
