Why Early Access?

“Drift Stage has been available in various versions since the game's initial inception in early 2014. The original prototype (released as a "pre-alpha demo") has been consistently popular since its debut.

Due to circumstances surrounding difficulties with the games development - release of this version of Drift Stage was continuously postponed until accommodation and review of the games code could be made - however, a considerable amount of time has passed since 2018 - and a steady increase in demand has led to the decision to release this version to the public.

The main goal of this release is delivering the last remaining unreleased build of Drift Stage to the fans and backers who continue to play almost a decade after its first inception in 2014; in addition to creating a funding avenue to continue development of the project.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“This version of Drift Stage is not actively in development. This build was initially deployed to pre-release testers in the summer of 2018 with intentions of a full early access release, but internal issues with the projects programmer resulted in Drift Stage ultimately never being released or seeing any updates that would bring this version of the game to completion.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The final full release of the game was planned to feature a more robust single player experience (including career mode), more online multiplayer options, and a track editor in addition to an expanded set of cars and tracks.

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Drift Stage has been in development since January 2015. Its alpha development has already provided three years of debugging and user feedback. Even in its current pre-release form, the game features a high level of technical and visual polish.

This version of Drift Stage currently has single-player time trials and online/split-screen multiplayer on three tracks with a roster of twelve cars along with a robust car decal editor.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The game's price may fluctuate based on current content playable in game. When the game is ready to leave Early Access, Super Systems will assess if the content of the full retail version of Drift Stage is enough to justify a price increase.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Drift Stage would not exist without the support of our community and fans. Despite all of the adversity and issues with this titles history, the enthusiasm and support to see this version released has not wavered in the countless years since that summer of 2015.

Drift Stage's decal editor allows users to upload custom car livery designs to the Steam Workshop as well as access to other community features offered through Steam. This feature represents a unique attribute to this version of the game, and has been tested as fully functional.”
