Why Early Access?

“City Tales: Medieval Era is a project made by a small team and we are passionate about building a community and including their feedback over the course of development. We have many new ideas to include, and we want to ensure they are implemented in a way that is meaningful to our players, we believe that early access provides the best environment for this to happen.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We are aiming for a year in early access but we have plans to gather feedback from players to decide on a more definitive timeframe. It's important to us to provide a full and polished product, that both delivers on our promised vision and the enjoyment of early access players.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“For now, we aim for:
- The localization in other languages (French, Spanish, German etc).
- Full implementation of the "Marvels" system, a high stake, high rewards type of building that will require good management and planning from the player.
- Full storyline of each companions and their end quest.
- 14 fully fledged companions.
- New resources, new buildings and new production lines
- Higher upgrade tiers for houses, which will allow you to offer luxurious homes to your citizens
- Improvement of the Influence area system
- More impacting choices through narration.
- More mid and late-game mechanics : a proper Castle and wall system and so on...”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“We currently have:
- A solid economy and an organic building system already allowing you to create a beautiful medieval city filled with life, with 47 types of buildings and 29 resources at your disposal
- Base game mechanics like buildings upgrade, influence areas and production lines up to tier 4
- Story-arcs of the first Companions.
- Stable early games mechanics.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to only slightly increase the price between early access and full release, according to the increase of content and features.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“It's very important for us to identify missing functionality, issues and sentiment toward a feature via early access players feedback as we are still in development. This way, we can create a game that will tell our collective story.
We aim to listen closely to our growing community while working and delivering what we have planned so we can iterate and improve, shaping the game together so our vision align with our community.”
