What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Dadda is a continuously evolving real-time audio-visual experience, and I believe that Early Access will allow me to engage with an active community of gamers, performers and electronic music fans. Their feedback and collaboration will be instrumental in shaping the final experience, ensuring that it resonates with audiences on multiple levels. This process of refinement will help me fine-tune both the visual and sonic elements of the game, aligning them with the traditions of experimental noise music and avant-garde art.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I anticipate that Dadda will be in Early Access for a period of 6 to 12 months. This timeline may be adjusted based on the feedback and creative direction taken during the development process.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version of Dadda is being planned with exciting enhancements in mind. Additional sonic contraptions, visual elements, and potential compatibility with more advanced sound systems like 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound are some of the aspects that I am working to integrate. I'm also focusing on enhancing performance customization, visual fidelity, and exploring opportunities for potential collaborations with other artists and players.

As Dadda continues its journey through Early Access, I aim to refine and expand these elements. Whilst I can't make specific promises about future events or definite additions, my goal is to create a seamless and unique player experience that expands my wider body of work. Your feedback and participation in Early Access will be invaluable in helping me achieve this vision.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current version of Dadda offers a substantial audio-visual experience, including the skinless stop-motion armature, the six limbs manipulating various sonic objects, and basic spatialized audio with stereo. The real-time performance feature is fully operational, allowing for playtimes ranging from 5 to 35 minutes. It's a functional and engaging version but will benefit from the enhancements planned for the full release.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes, the Early Access version will be offered at a reduced price to encourage participation and feedback.
The full version will have an increased price, reflecting the added content, enhancements, and overall richer experience.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“The community’s engagement is vital to Dadda’s development. I plan to host forums, workshops, and live sessions where users can share their insights, experiences, and suggestions. I'll also be making regular updates via my X, Instagram and Facebook accounts. Collaborative experimentation will be encouraged, and I'm excited to see how players will connect with the work, contribute creatively, and add depth to this artistic endeavour. Their feedback will be integral in shaping Dadda's future and helping it resonate as a cultural artifact.”
