About This Game

What People Think About The Game:

"What makes this game so good is the humor in the writing...When I look at all the games I have played this year so far, this is literally the most funny game of them all."- Johnny Nys, The Adventure Games Podcast

"A fun, solid, good game. I enjoyed Bent Oak Island quite a bit."- Indie Legends, YouTube

"...it is fun, and that's all that matters when playing games."- RickJoystick, YouTube

Twins Archer and Sam just want to relax after getting shipped off to stay with their eccentric uncle for the summer. Too bad for them the world is ending, and only they can stop it! The genre is point and click adventure, similar to the PC classics from the 80s and 90s! Keep reading for more info about the game's features and content!

Bent Oak Island was once a bustling tourist hot spot, until a fire burned through the town square and turned everything to cinders. With the destruction of the town center, tourism dried up, and with it the main source of income for the island. Now 15 years later, the island has moved on, but is a shell of it's former self. The future of the island seems bleak, and to make matters worse, an air of dread has settled on the islanders. Ned at the diner is barely able to make ends meet after the paper factory shut its doors. The Captain swears the fish he catches are talking about him behind his back. A strange, hairy creature has been sighted stalking through the forests of the nature preserve. And Ted from the University on the mainland has measured the beginnings of disturbing tectonic activity- vibrations in the ground. The same activity that happened 15 years ago on the night of the fire.

Will Archer and Sam unravel the secrets of Bent Oak Island in time to save themselves from certain doom? Will Uncle finally be able to muster up the courage to ask out the head librarian? Will the pie shop ever actually have any pie in stock for people to eat? Find out the answers to these burning questions and much more by playing the game!

-Bent Oak Island follows the gameplay of classic point-and-click adventure games. In each scene there will be things to look at and interact with, items to collect, NPCs to talk to, and puzzles to solve.

-Gorgeous hand created pixel art, somewhere between NES and SNES graphics. (Game does NOT use AI!)

-Explore the island with main characters Archer and Sam, twins who get wrapped up in the island’s mysteries.

-A fully fleshed out world with deep lore that the player learns throughout the game. What starts out as a simple adventure turns into something much wilder and weirder!

-100+ different scenes with locations ranging from mountain peaks, to underground lakes, from abandoned factories, to townie bars!

-Two main endings, with a third secret ending that requires numerous optional puzzles to be completed.

TLDR:

Bent Oak Island is a point and click adventure game. It is a full, stand alone-game that tells the story of twins Archer and Sam on their summer vacation. It features puzzles, inventory items, fun characters and loads of dialogue.
