What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Inspired by the success of shooting ranges in our pioneering disassembly sim World of Guns: Gun Disassembly (that’s right, it was us who started the “disassembly” genre back in 2010), we decided to create an entire game about competitive shooting, training, and fun — giving you the opportunity to try out all the weapons available in World of Guns (currently and in the future). After 4+ years of work, we did: the game has fully usable pistols, revolvers, shotguns, SMGs, assault and battle rifles, sniper rifles, and even an RPG! Over 120 highly detailed models are already in the game, along with 250+ accessories (scopes, magazines, barrels, compensators, suppressors, lights, rails/mounts, etc.).

And here’s the rub: it’s very difficult to perfectly balance all of this in-house — which is why we want to involve the community throughout Early Access to help us improve World of Shooting and make it as interesting and replayable as possible.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We have LOTS of weapons and game modes that all need to be well-balanced. So, if we work hard, with your help we’ll get the game to full release in 6 to 8 months. (At that point, the Practical Shooting campaign and the Killhouses campaign will be finalized).”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“For the full version we plan to add
- from 10 to 20 new firearms (based on balance feedback)
- several new stages to the Showroom
- killhouse campaign completed (Shotguns match would be added, mixed match would be added, additional sets for pistols, SMG's and assault rifles would be added)”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“We have playable version of the game
- Showroom with all models unlocked and some practice stages
- Practical Shooting campaign completed
- Killhouse Campaign 70% completed
- test version of the balance (weapons specs and weapons shop)”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan on making World of Shooting free-to-play with some paid options.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“The primary objective of Early Access is to receive feedback from the community, improve the game, and make it more user-friendly — the same way we did with World of Guns. This means we’re going to be quite active in the Community section, do lots of livestreaming, and communicate with players directly.

Also, the game includes a powerful level editor that is integrated with Steam Workshop — so from the first day, players will be able to create and share their own shooting ranges, as well as design complex challenges (‘stages’) and mini-campaigns (‘sets’). We plan to fully involve the maker/modder community, and improve this feature based on their feedback and suggestions.”

About This Game

World of Shooting lets you compete in realistic shooting sports matches, train tactically in ‘killhouses’, and collect your own armory from hundreds of historic and modern firearms!

Currently, the game has over 120 firearms (up to 300 models total will be added), and 250+ accessories — scopes, red dot and laser sights, weapon lights, magazines, suppressors, ammunition, etc., all corresponding to real-life equipment.

Build an ultimate Gucci racegun, shoot the heck out of a $5000 Korth, or compete with a 100-year old Chauchat — it’s entirely up to you!

SHOWROOM
Have you ever wanted to check out all the weapons in a game without completing the campaign or grinding for days? You’re in luck, because our Showroom lets you do that right away.

All of the game’s guns and accessories are neatly placed on its shelves. What’s more, you can try all of them out right away by instantly loading a timed shooting range for each weapon type.

PRACTICAL SHOOTING
The practical shooting campaigns have over 400 levels called stages — each built using real-life rules. As you progress in each campaign, you unlock better guns and accessories of that type, and also tune and upgrade the weapons in your Armory.

Beat pistol, revolver, shotgun, assault rifle, sniper rifle, and even machine gun campaigns — and then try the mixed stages, where you must quickly swap between your pistol, shotgun, and rifle in each stage. Campaigns include day and night stages, and feature dozens of different target types.

KILLHOUSE
‘Kill houses’ are sets of rooms with mechanical targets. used for realistic tactical training. They were invented by the British SAS in the 1940’s, and are used worldwide by special forces, military, and police.

Currently, pistol, SMG, and assault rifle killhouse campaigns are available; shotgun scenarios will be added soon. Killhouse targets often take your firearm’s muzzle energy into consideration: decide if rate of fire, accuracy, or sheer power lets your clear that room the fastest.

WORKSHOP
A powerful level editor lets you build your own shooting range challenges, using pre-made environments (including realistic urban maps). The editor lets you build your own courses of fire, program the stage behavior, automate moving targets and doors, and more.

Test out your challenges and share them with the community via Steam Workshop! YouTube tutorials for the Workshop are available directly in the game.

QUIZ
Every campaign has its own multiple-choice Quiz (over 150 questions available). You can use your knowledge of firearm history and technology to earn additional XP during a campaign. If you make a mistake, the game will provide a relevant Wikipedia link so you can brush up on your gun nut trivia!

GLOBAL LEADERBOARDS
Each game mode in World of Shooting keeps tabs of your results, entering them into personal bests, local, and global leaderboards that update in real time. Everything is taken into account: clean play with no misses, active reloads, using rare or old guns. You can see a diagram of your progress and filter the leaderboards by weapon.

ENCYCLOPEDIA
For each firearm model we add, we provide its basic history, specifications, and useful links. You can browse all the firearms in the game’s Catalog using categories, tags, and filters, and open Encyclopedia pages by clicking the book icon near the gun’s name.
