Exactly. Hence the name goes out to all the players who knew it as Mini14 back then. :-)

its nicknamed the mini14 because it looks like a smaller m14 but anyway awesome firing sound man good shit

It used to be the Mini 14 in the early days after the game launch, but NWI quickly changed the engraving and added selective fire, making it the AC 556, yet still they didn't changed the sound folder name, like when the AKM sounds were in the folder 'ak47'....

The in-game sound directory says its "mini14", so. Anyway, thanks for the info. :-)

Semi-automatic rifle (Mini-14)
Selective-fire rifle (AC-556)

I've seen some servers having both these weapons for both side of the team.

Mini14? there is no mini 14 in this game, or do you mean M1A1 carbine? if so, its not the mini 14, there is actual Ruger mini 14 but sadly its not in the game :)
