You have to go to your5 LIBRARY and right click on the game you want to validate. Select PROPERTIES, then LOCAL FILES and selct the verify game integre.... button. THis will take like 20 min or so because its checking every L4D2 file you have just incase something wsa moved or deleted by accident. If something is found mising it will redownload those files, dont worry it wont delte anything from you only add.

I recommend that you VALIDATE your L4D2 files via STEAM. This solves the problem with add-ons 99.9% of the time.
