nights are far too dark even at max vanilla brightness and reasonable monitor brightness

all that many people have been asking for is an update to this version (or a patch addon for this) to allow changing of light level during night

yet this seemingly hasnt been updated since posted, likely either abandoned for special edition or steam was just dropped completely in favor of posting the full version nexus, where they link to a donation page

Does this work with realistic lightning and realistic interior lightning and does it require a new playtrough?

I'd be fine with the night time being super dark if it also didn't affect places like Winterhold. It makes no sense for a location to be that dark during day time.

Fantastic Mod. Feels very immersive. I actually use torches and spells at night to travel.

Perfect, when used together with "DragonWarrior-Effects 1.3 EN", which allows to increase brightness during dusk, night and dawn. And add a bit more saturation.
I increase the brightness to 6 (dusk/dawn) and 8 (night), which is still dark enough for you to need the torches or candle light spell, but is not pitch-black, so you can orient yourself in the wilderness.

This mod makes it way too dark at night at least in the Rift and near Winterhold - pitch black without a torch. With a torch you still can can see only for a meter or two around you. Had to unsubscribe, altough liked new sky very much :"(

HELP. I unsubscribed because it gets too hard to see at night, but its still there.

I'm not sure if the mod is working for me, I put it at the top of the load order, and a the bottom before, but in both instances I'm not getting the darker nights, and I'm not sure if I'm getting the new weather either. I'm going to try unsubing then resub to see if that works but any help is also appreciated.

I like the fact that this makes wandering around at night difficult. Have you ever wondered what magelight could be used for? I knew when I came back to give feedback on the mod there would be crying about darkness. Guess what? It IS dark at night. Some of the trees look like they glow though. Maybe it is now dark enough to see this aspect of nature.

I'm having an issue where when the sky goes dark in a storm, the leafy grasses around me remain as brilliant green as if it was broad daylight. I don't have any mod that affects the grass color, the only mod I have that even effects the appearance of stuff like that is HD Plants which i'm fairly certain only really impacts ingredient plants like the flowers, and not the grass that's in the dirt. any advice?

Guys I might be wrong, forgive me if that's the case, but arent the nights pitch black when the moons arent up yet ? I was experimenting that boring super dark night problem when the brightness and light started to increase, exactly when the Red moon rose from behind a mountain.
So if that is the case it's not a bug is it ?

Confirmed. This addon made my game look as if it had no lightning so nearly no shadows whatsoever. Disabled and it went back to how it should be.

For anyone having an issue with night, look into Dragon Warrior Effects. You can customize practically everyting of the lighting, incluclucing brightness saturation and color. I was having an issue with it, so I used the mod, and now I get pretty skies and I can see.

hello i download the one between that one and Project Reality:Climates Of Tamriel - Lite Version ??

First off, I would like to say that I LOVE this mod . . . during the day. I was impressed with the night environment, at first, as it seemed to add a realism to the gameplay. Walking in the middle of the wilderness should be dark at night, but the sheer absolute BLACK began to grate. I've kept this mod for weeks . . . forced to "wait" and scroll forward to dawn . . . whenever nighttime rolled around again. It was unplayable. And I really did try . . . I really wanted to be able to keep this mod because the daytime is absolutely beautiful.

At Nights it is impossible to go somewhere, additionally torches are useless. It gives light around 0.5 meter. Damn. I can change gamma but its looks like nightvision and day is too much brighter.

@everyone complaining about night..... It's a experience in it self... Before i downloaded this mod i thought that the night's where to darn light... 12 Am looked like 7 Am.... I know that this is just my opinion but i have something to the people that don't like the darkness... Download this mod on Nexus.... You can download it with the mod manager... There you can choose the darkness level at night... There are 3 diffrent night types.... 1. "regular night type" (the one seen in the vanilla game.... 2. " darkere night" (a darkere version of the regular night type).... 3. "Even darkere" ( The one seen in this mod )....................


Pls stop complaining about this mod saying it's a shit mod and take 2 seconds of your life to download the mod manager and "this mod" on the Nexus Skyrim Mods
