I have a 1895 m91, so it is about 120 yrs old. I get about 2 MOA at 300 yds on a benchrest. Some were well treated (mine was captured by the Finns, and they never waste a good rifle), others were obviously used as part of a cooking tripod in Stalingrad. Check the barrel before you buy, or request good pictures if buying online, and you will be pinging steel at 300 yds too.

Mosins are the guns that will be da same no matter is it moded or not so i think moded Mosins are kinda useless haha...

Mosins were more or less made to go *BANG* and hit a man sized target at 100-300y - if the shooter did his part. Expecting one to put 5 rounds into under an inch at 200y like, say, a Savage M10 or Sako TRG isn't really a fair comparison. Bore diameter did vary a lot from the Finn .308" to the Russian and Chi-com ones which went from .310" to .315" from the factory (before the potassium chloride had a chance to rust them even more) - SMLE's can be found to have the same sloppy bores but they're not AS common. The only way to get a .312"+ barrel to shoot well is to load cast projectiles that match it.

To be fair to Deathmachine's mad leet skillz...

Most Mosins ARE shit because numbnuts morons aren't capable of cleaning their crap and the barrels get pitted. Get a mostly virgin one and they're pretty damn accurate though; not as nice as a '98 or SMLE, but still more than servicable.
