Absolutely brilliant puzzle! It took me such a while to get out of this trap that I found myself in. It's pure tick tock logic with the portals, thank you for creating!

Couldn't figure this puzzle out for a while. Felt like a dunce when I finally did!


You asked earlier about why people give thumbs down...I can't speak for anyone else but I can speak for me. I give a thumbs down for one of the following three reasons.


1. I get stuck in a place in which there is no way to get out other than kiling myself/restarting the map. I don't mean I make a mistake, but I try a section of the map and find out that I needed something else before hand, but now am completely trapped.

2. There are more elements in the map than are needed to solve it. This map needs some serious stream-lining.

3.There is no logic to the puzzle. All your are doing is grunt-work, running around and putting things here and there. But the player doesn't really have to think and solve. That's what puzzles are.

Fun map. Not too hard. Thumbs up.

Excellent logical map, thank you. Re your question ”why it is they (or you) hit the dislike button?” :- I don’t think I have ever pressed the thumbs down button, but I may have if I’m in a really grumpy mood (my problem, not the authors) and the map was absolute garbage e.g. like something I’d produce! If it’s just not my cup of tea (e.g. I’m not keen really difficult flying ninja fast portalling maps), then I don’t rate it (thumbs up or down) and pass on to the next, after all, it’s not as if I’m right or have paid for their hard work. Those that down rate maps because they can’t do them, well, that’s their problem and not the map authors; but it is a shame if the author takes it to heart. Anyway road up, enough of my wittering – keep up the good work.

Whew! That took longer than what it should have, the portal surfaces should have been a dead give-a-way. That's what I get for getting old! Great map.

Nice logic twists.

Have the original form of this map appear as an advanced map. This map makes a great catalyst for smooth puzzle solving.

Hah, ironically, this version is easier than the original despite the fact it has more steps. I think the minimalist look and the low number of portal surfaces (only 5) make this a very streamlined puzzle. It demonstrates a very simple and useful idea in portal, so I think its one of my best remakes. :)

Its minimalist design and challenging solution (at least for me) make this a very nice map.

All of my chambers use minimal portal surfaces. I consider white surfaces an asset to be used and reused in as many elegant ways as possible. If the idea is good enough and it has the fewest portal surfaces and is able to confuse the player in a cerebral way, I've done my job. :) thanks for the video!

Nice map! I'd say the limited portal surfaces makes the solution quite obvious very quickly, but not sure how you could fix that without revamping the map.

This map is amazing. I dont know why people would hit the dislike button. People are just like that. They HATE the sucsesful. They try to make them back down and fail.It is something i dont understand and something I dont want other people to be affected with.

Solid puzzle

Is it possible? How can do it?

Very nice and simple.

Of course you can do something wrong. (for those crazy geniouses who can pass the chamber and exploit it)
But for the people who thumb down your map who are not those people, it's because they have not and cannot solve the puzzle. They think you did something wrong and that is why they cannot exit the map, so they blame the maker instead of themselves.
The challenge in their way is lack of knolwledge and experience. That is NOT a reason to downthumb a chamber. Your PIERS of which I'm not (Because I certainly could not help you improve, will always give you the TRUE feedback if needed, on a fantastic puzzle.

Thank you, Jade, I appreciate your sentiments and can only say that I disagree when you say I can't make anything wrong... I do care about what I make and I've developed a keen consideration for my players, but that does not make me perfect.

Back to the point, I think I have always feared this was the case: that people dislike a puzzle because they cannot solve it... Their attentions are strained and therefore any challenge in their way is considered a nuisance. I think it's unfortunate that good puzzle receive unnecessary dislikes (not just my own).

You must know that they press the dislike button because they do not get it.
Remember that there are idiots both morally and mentally;
They will dislike this chamber simply because they do not get it ;They think there is something wrong with you instead of realising that there is something wrong with them. Not because there is anything worng with the test. They're just stupid. It's beyond their realm of knowledge. You my friend are a genious and nothing you make could be wrong. Why? Because you care, you are aware and you are a geniious!!
