since they founded Spain and their blood runs in my vains I feel related to them and their pagan beliefs too
Exilarto 10. feb. 2021 kl. 18.05
makes sense to me, give me a reason to abandon arinism eventually or stick with it playing as the Visigothics.

Thank you, that's great! :D :westernromanempire:

Cool cool. Thanks again for the shout-out, i'll also put that link in the description.

I just updated the StartPos AddOn for the Community Patch and included your change to the Visigoths. You're of course credited and linked to on my mod page. :)

Here's a link to the mod:

That's great to hear! :D

I'll contact you again once the change has been implemented. :) It might take some time, though.
DeliciousCrackers  [skaper] 22. juni 2019 kl. 19.13
Hey, thanks for asking, I'd be quite happy to allow that.

Hi DeliciousCrackers,
I'm the curator of the Unofficial Attila Community Patch that is dedicated to fixing all the bugs that are left in the game. I'm thinking of changing the Visigoths' religion to Arian Christianity in the next release of the patch. Since you are the first person to have created such a fix I'd like to give you credit on my mod page. Would you give me permission to do so? :)

Here's a link to the patch:

can you make a mod that makes the suebi arian christian? i know its ahistorical, but when i tried to do it to make myself like the other tribes it would never work
DeliciousCrackers  [skaper] 28. feb. 2017 kl. 1.01
Hi, if you're using the Assembly Kit, what you need to do with TWeak is open the DAVE tool, view the table launcher, navigate to the start_pos_factions table, and make your changes under the 'state_religion' column, hit apply, and then export those changes to binary. When that's done you open the separate BOB application, and under working data tick the campaign you've changed under Working data, and select both 'Campaign/Process start pos' and create a pack file. If you need more help the first post in this thread covers the basics: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?642711-How-to-Change-Region-Ownership-and-Add-Remove-Armies-using-the-Assembly-Kit .

Hey,

thanks for the great work.
Could you possibly show me how to change the starting eligion for other factions as well?

Thanks in advance!

Just need to make an Insular (Celtic) Christaain for the Irish
DeliciousCrackers  [skaper] 8. des. 2016 kl. 2.40
That is very odd. I'm not really the best to ask about using PFM. I think Magnar would be able to give you some good pointers.
Lord Monarchus 5. des. 2016 kl. 7.42
I did, but for some reason the startpos does not exist in my data. I had to copy another mod to access that. Feels weird since startpos also should exist in my own original data.
DeliciousCrackers  [skaper] 4. des. 2016 kl. 16.20
I don't have much experience with PFM, so I probably won't be able to help you out too much. I did a bit of research, and I'm assuming you changed the value of faction_religion_manager under the faction_array tab?
Lord Monarchus 28. nov. 2016 kl. 7.25
How can I change starting religion with ONLY PFM? I tried but ended up only changing the description of the factions when you choose the faction. But ingame the religion stays the same. More specific info please. And BOB makes my mods corrupted for some reason so I cant use that program.
Politruk 29. okt. 2016 kl. 17.07
its ok i have found it out, thx :)
Politruk 29. okt. 2016 kl. 14.06
but how exactly? with Pack File Manager?
DeliciousCrackers  [skaper] 24. okt. 2016 kl. 17.18
To change it in the menu you have to mod the game files.
Politruk 22. okt. 2016 kl. 1.12
nice. btw how did u changed faction religion in menu? so far im able to change it in game
A Big Larry 4. sep. 2016 kl. 12.35
Worked like a charm, thanks.
DeliciousCrackers  [skaper] 4. sep. 2016 kl. 0.01
It will not affect achievements, so feel free to browse through the workshop.

And JohnnyRebo601, in the game it's actually impossible to change religion as a horde faction. If you want to convert to Arianism your best bet is to take a short trip to Alexandria.
A Big Larry 3. sep. 2016 kl. 17.17
Hi, I'm new to this whole steam workshop thing and I had a question about your mod (or steam workshop mods in general), if it sounds stupid, I'm sorry I just don't know much about this stuff. Will installing this mess up with the achievements? I want to play as historically as possible, but I also don't want to disable achivements in the process.
Twirly Duck 27. aug. 2016 kl. 13.44
well damn haha is it possible to change your religion when your a Horde?
if so how can I speed up that process?
DeliciousCrackers  [skaper] 22. aug. 2016 kl. 18.57
Ah, that would be it. Both mods change the start_pos file, which basically determines campaign starts and when chapter events happen (e.g. the Hun invasion). Sadly because of that you can't use both at the same time
Twirly Duck 21. aug. 2016 kl. 8.33
It appears that it doesn't work with my 12 tpy mod.
Any clue why a turn per year change would affect a start Religion mod?
DeliciousCrackers  [skaper] 20. aug. 2016 kl. 20.34
Best answer I can come up with is to verify the game files in Steam. If it doesn't work you may need to delete the mod and have it redownload in mod manager.
Twirly Duck 20. aug. 2016 kl. 20.25
I subscribed, yet it has changed nothing. any idea why? I even turned off all of my other mods, started a new campaign. Still nothing.
nsheon 23. apr. 2016 kl. 23.20
Thanks - I was able to change the Garamantians to Judaism without using BOB, but I'll give that a shot. Thanks again!
DeliciousCrackers  [skaper] 23. apr. 2016 kl. 20.35
It's a two-stage process. First you just have to change their religion under the start_pos_factions table. Then, when you're using BOB, you select 'campaigns' under the 'Working Data' list, select the main campaign, then select startpos_esf. Make sure to create the start pos and mod pack, and after BOB does its thing it should work.
nsheon 23. apr. 2016 kl. 19.40
Trying to make the Visigoth starting religion Manichaeism (roleplaying reasons), and having difficulty doing so. Any advice? I think I'm changing the right tables...
Seyaku-Brad 8. apr. 2016 kl. 21.04
Thank You I was wondering why they made Alaric a Pagan...It was his faith that stayed his hand in the sacking of Rome.
DeliciousCrackers  [skaper] 5. mars 2016 kl. 4.17
I had a quick look and it works fine on my end. Are you using any other startpos mods?
Noif1988 5. mars 2016 kl. 2.56
Not working on me anymore. Visigoths are still germanic paganism in game save and grand campaign faction selection menu.
Brave_Surfer 4. jan. 2016 kl. 22.11
nice fix...thanks :)
DeliciousCrackers  [skaper] 10. des. 2015 kl. 17.03
Update is out!
Grizzly 16. sep. 2015 kl. 4.17
Latest patch has Samatian paganism included! Might b eworth it for teh alans :)
VELI 3. sep. 2015 kl. 12.16
According to the special's edition's map.Visigoths are considered to accept Arianism :D.
DeliciousCrackers  [skaper] 24. aug. 2015 kl. 23.04
That's more Persian. From what I've read the Alans worshipped a sword planted in the ground, but I can't find much outside of that.
Grizzly 24. aug. 2015 kl. 3.51
Manicheïsm?
DeliciousCrackers  [skaper] 24. aug. 2015 kl. 3.26
It seems like Sarmatian paganism would be the best pick, though that would necessitate creating a whole new religion ingame. I could look into doing it eventually.
Grizzly 24. aug. 2015 kl. 0.56
@Crackers - What religion would make more sense for the Alans then? And can you put that in a mod?
DeliciousCrackers  [skaper] 5. aug. 2015 kl. 18.15
While that is true, that happened over a decade before the game's starting date, and every king after Athanaric were Arian (until 589). As I said before, the game doesn't simulate non-leadership religion for horde factions, and seeing Alaric as pagan riled me up.
Solarak 31. juli 2015 kl. 0.35
Athanaric began a persecution of christians just when Alaric was young, Sabbas the Goth is a nice point of view of that generation. A lot of pagans converted, still, the goths offered resistence to conversion some years more than other pagans in this years.
DeliciousCrackers  [skaper] 30. juli 2015 kl. 23.41
Alaric was definitely a practising Arian Christian, although he did engage in occasional pagan practices/rituals. The Visigothic leadership had been Christianised since at least the mid 4th-century, and it's not unreasonable to believe the rest of the tribe had also converted. Lastly, the game doesn't simulate non-leadership religion for horde factions, so I feel it's more appropriate for the faction to be Arian. It certainly makes more sense than the Alans being Arian.
Solarak 29. juli 2015 kl. 9.42
I'm not really sure about that historically, I think Alaric I, first Visigoth king, was pagan until death (buried as it at least), and Theodoric I is considered the first catholic king of all germanic kingdoms. Between Alaric and Theodoric, were 3 other kings. Even if Ataulf got baptized, his people still were pagans. Anyway I preffer pagans than christians, but usefull mod if you pretend to stay Arian xD

Can someone give them the inheritors of rome trait to them
mxxmmllm 8. juli 2015 kl. 5.49
Nice !
Metal Izanagi 6. juli 2015 kl. 21.09
Etruscan, the Roman Empire was definitely not following the Hellenic beliefs at the time that Attila takes place.
Etruscan 5. juli 2015 kl. 18.14
Why not roman hellenic? lol
