Unfortunately this asset doesn't work anymore. Pedestrians walk under the bridge.

Hi! This is a really great asset but is there a way to reduce or remove the visual bug where pedestrians are going thru the stairs? Thank you!
katarzyna.mleczko 31. juli kl. 11:05
For me it works, it's great! Thank you, it fits perfect for my city! :)
Seiryuu 15. apr. kl. 14:37
Does not work.
Hayran 7. okt. 2023 kl. 17:41
It just doesn't work on roads with a cycle path, as there is a bug where cyclists decide to cross the overpass underneath it (on the street) instead of going up the stairs. But it's okay for anothers networks roads.
CruFox 11. apr. 2023 kl. 10:02
It works, thank you :D
Sevvy 25. mar. 2023 kl. 6:40
I've been after something like this since the game came out in 2015, i'm on my last hurrah city and you finally solved the issue. Thanks for making both small and big road versions, they look great!
Derrios 25. juni 2022 kl. 12:45
Can't select this or delete it once placed. (new to mods so I may just be stupid here). Don't see pedestrians using it either.
deadbone1961 9. nov. 2021 kl. 15:03
An update: this overpass works REALLY well. Pedestrians visibly using it, the pathway attaches easily to other paths, the attached park adds a bump to land values/happiness, and as an unexpected bonus the overpass generates it's own electric "signature" to help make those difficult power connections. One of the most useful assets in my collection. Thanks!
deadbone1961 7. nov. 2021 kl. 9:38
Looks great! Will be interesting to try this one out :)

Best Pedestrian overpass!
Johannes 17. feb. 2020 kl. 10:06
First off: Thanks for making my favorite ped. overpass of all time!

Second: In snowfall the snow at the bottom of the bridge pillars spills on to the street.
Is it possible to make a model where the pillars are a little further apart?
DJ 19. jan. 2020 kl. 14:12
Like the overpass. Suggestion: add a version without the little garden/seats. In most places I don't have space for that.
Der Orso 8. dec. 2019 kl. 23:24
Your Pedestrian Overpasses are great! Helped me clear some very busy intersections and roundabouts. Many thanks.

The only unfortunate thing is how much space they need. Mainly I need them in conjested, built-up areas, and am forced to knock down a lot of builds to be able to place them.

The footprint could be reduced to at least 2x1 on the side which links to the road, and possibly 1x1 if the crosswalk were pushed to the forward edge of the square, and the stair "spiroled" underneath the crosswalk. For really tight neighborhoods (do I build anything else o_O ) it would be very useful. Just an idea :) .
Pacebreaker 30. mar. 2019 kl. 7:52
5 months passed and you replied. Still thank you!
Duncan 30. mar. 2019 kl. 0:37
@Pacebreaker - hold seondary mouse button to rotate.

@ MMO-Spoilers - If there's a cross-walk near by then they will use that instead. Use TM:PE mod to disable crosswalks near the Overpass.
CONVVERGE 5. feb. 2019 kl. 22:18
It seems to not work, people do not want to go on it...
Pacebreaker 29. okt. 2018 kl. 6:17
How do you rotate this? Is it possible?
UncleYar 12. maj 2018 kl. 1:24
Working perfect here (with small visual glitches, they don't follow the stairs perfectly), thanks for this. It works even better if you use Traffic Manager President Edition to forbid people from crossing the road at specific intersections. But people do use the overpass even without that, especially if it's far enough away from an intersection and provides a shortcut to a point of interest like a metro station.

My Cims aren't using the bridges.... is there something special you have to do?
tipobaha 19. dec. 2017 kl. 14:20
is it working still ?
Tim The Terrible 17. feb. 2016 kl. 14:20
Hey there, I'm wondering how you managed to get cims walking over the bridge using Ped. paths. I'm making a rail crossing but cims don't want to walk over it. Can you help me out maybe? Thanks!

Outstanding job on these bridges. Very realistic looking!
Inglourias 21. nov. 2015 kl. 7:49
I have been using ONLY these two bridges since I've been playing. They are perfect, simple, easy to place, and very lovely. It is considered one of my staple mods. Thank you so much!
Technopop 4. nov. 2015 kl. 19:01
I use this all the time. Thanks!~
martinpirina 27. sep. 2015 kl. 3:23
Is it work also for Dark Night dlc ?
RexDCBelen 28. juli 2015 kl. 22:19
this is exactly what i needed. thank you so much *.*
DRen72 30. juni 2015 kl. 11:47
This asset appears and disappears sometimes while I'm looking at it in the game. No other asset I have does this.

Having a "floater" glitch (pedestrians pathing straight to the first right-angle rather than taking the half-stairs - see http://i.imgur.com/x7WevVl.jpg

How much of a pain it would be to add a second staircase to the assets? Basically like saying "the cims are too dumb to walk properly, so we'll just put the floor where their feet are" :tgrin: I personally think it would look okay, and might be a lot less aggravation than continuing to tinker with the path scripting. Here's what I mean: http://i.imgur.com/utYDSMV.png

Another idea would be a single staircase, at 45 degrees: http://i.imgur.com/agCNAQT.png

I think it's obvious from the "quality" of the imgur mockups why I'm suggesting this here rather than trying to do it myself :rshocked:
Kimchi 15. juni 2015 kl. 9:50
the bridge is about 8U away from the crosswalk though.
Orchid  [ophavsmand] 15. juni 2015 kl. 9:19
Read the guide. again.
Kimchi 15. juni 2015 kl. 7:58
I can't get people to use this. I placed it by an intercection and maybe 1-2 people use it while a hoard take the crosswalk. If I place a regular pedestrian bridge people use it. Am I doing something wrong? Also anyway you could put the park on both sides? Might help with people using it.
DaN 8. juni 2015 kl. 22:16
This is very usefull, while previous im using crossroad directly on the road that make some jam
like this picture.
http://steamproxy.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=456197965

but now more organized and beauty..
btw.. can you teach me how to change the pink line on asset editor.. some citiem like flying like your 1st and 2nd picture.
Orchid  [ophavsmand] 30. maj 2015 kl. 9:37
As I stated on the other asset's page, no. The park exists for anchoring the bridge, otherwise there is no sound way of getting that bridge in place. You may complain the park layout is so bad, but that is not something I would like to change, either.
manu 30. maj 2015 kl. 9:10
Can you remove park kind of thing? please...
Orchid  [ophavsmand] 14. maj 2015 kl. 22:26
I am not going to make a highway version. The main reason is that highways have variable widths. It is nonsense to make a lot of fixed-sized variations. You can already make good-looking overpasses with the vanilla pedestrian path tool.
BLÀde 14. maj 2015 kl. 21:05
can you do one for a highway? this won't go over one.
mylene.fargis 8. maj 2015 kl. 7:10
Ah thx an it works. ;)
Orchid  [ophavsmand] 8. maj 2015 kl. 6:54
@mylene.fargis you need to point to the "lot", not the model, to remove it.
mylene.fargis 8. maj 2015 kl. 6:48
It is not removable and it is whitout path. :(
Stephen 30. apr. 2015 kl. 11:25
If you could code it to where the only jumpers are teens on skateboards, it would look very believable. ;-)
Orchid  [ophavsmand] 30. apr. 2015 kl. 11:11
Seems there are a lot of unexpected movements.

Even the intended movements are not perfect. I see people jumping onto the second set of stairs but they never did before the revision (converting to use overhanging model). I am checking repeatedly to make sure I have copied the path-hints accurately, but they still ignore the lowest part of the hints.

They are funny, that's the best I can get. Thanks for your comments!
Stephen 30. apr. 2015 kl. 10:41
Much better. I see that it's now a park that exists on only one side of the street. That seems to solve the problem of people crossing under the bridge to move from one half of the park to the other.

Of course, because there's nothing on the far side of the street, it's essential to un-zone that area or end up with things like this: http://imgur.com/D49BAVo That's right--two shacks build right under the bridge. The second one almost works, except for the satellite antenna that sticks up through the pavement.

I didn't see anyone use the bridge over a 4-lane road, but there wasn't much reason to cross, anyway. What I did see was a series of "jumpers." http://imgur.com/JBve0rZ Residents would climb the stairs, but instead of crossing, they would jump over the barrier into the park.

I had much better luck over a 6-lane road. Here's the 2-way: http://imgur.com/ADf25Zf

And here's the 1-way: http://imgur.com/PW8yThT

Both seem to work as expected. Much appreciated!
Orchid  [ophavsmand] 30. apr. 2015 kl. 9:20
@Stephen, I've successfully converted the lot to use the overhanging model. It should now be able to fit with any road.
Orchid  [ophavsmand] 30. apr. 2015 kl. 8:12
For 3., now the road segment under the bridge is static. It is baked into the park itself. The good news is I'm going for an overhaul of this lot by changing the model to overhang. It can then be used with any 4-cell-wide road.

For 4., people that walk under the bridge may be actually "visiting" it. That occurs to the 2-lane version, too.
Stephen 30. apr. 2015 kl. 7:52
I just experimented with the 2-lane and 6-lane and discovered the following:

1. The 2-lane works great. Pedestrians use it, even if an ordinary crosswalk is just one corner away. http://imgur.com/qAwDVte I did not test this with a 1-way street.
2. Given that 4-lane and 6-lane roads are roughly the same width, I tried using the 6-lane overpass with a 4-lane road. I was able to place it, but because it includes its own short road segment (which is 6 lanes wide), it's not ideal for that scenario.
3. I tried using it with a 1-way road but could not find any placement method that would give me a 1-way segment under the overpass, itself. http://imgur.com/NYAXtHh
4. Everything looks great with a 6-lane, 2-way road, but pedestrians seemed to prefer walking under it. http://imgur.com/GkEuQwU
Orchid  [ophavsmand] 30. apr. 2015 kl. 7:35
Thanks for your feedback. I may change the low wall in the 2-lane version to a banister too. Hope that's giving the model a more convincing look.
Stephen 30. apr. 2015 kl. 6:56
Also, I like that you added a banister, here, instead of the low wall used in the 2-lane version.
Stephen 30. apr. 2015 kl. 6:50
Wonderful! The base overpass is far too tall and too steep! When the right props are available, I wonder if I could add garland and Christmas wreaths. ...
