Fun fact: Valve didnt' complete the model for adrenaline during E3, so they used placeholders. Quite a few of them, actually. The Charger was a Hunter with a red hoodie (correct me, I think), and the adrenaline was a retextured Pills bottle.

Now that I have played Left 4 Dead (the prequel) with the original animations again, I can even understand why people love this old stuff. Of course the ideas behind the old files are very simple, but they're also somehow interesting.
Nonetheless, I still think that everything is better than Left 4 Dead 2 completely default.
