FANTASTIC MAP !

Hello Delta 1. I love winter rescue and I hope you do not mind that I decided to fix certain issues with it and upload an updated version, found here:

I have significantly improved bot navigation, fixed all compatibility issues with the latest game patches, polished the map here and there, implemented support for higher bot and/or player counts and more. But effectively it's still the same map that we all enjoyed so much and still do even in 2020. Thank you.

Hey Schroeder-- sadly this map was lost in a computer accident. I no longer have the files-which really bums me out. I wish I could help fix the situation. :(
If anyone wants to try and decompile the map and make some fixes they are welcome to. Just give credit if you repost.

@D3L7A - this is my top 5 favorite Insurgency 3rd party map. Looks like Ins patch on 2018.05.04 broke the skybox: https://steamproxy.com/app/222880/discussions/3/1696046342860397569/ and http://apollo.confluvium.info/20180504.mp4 . I'm guessing this is the missing } character on the vmt file, due to the NWI code fix to the script processor. I know you retired this map but any way to bring it back, or authorize someone else that might be up to the task?

Yeah sorry guys-I think there was a switch up in the back end stuff that kinda broke this map for people. There is supposed to be a stable version up that Arc posted. Thanks for all the love this map has gotten...hope people can still enjoy it!

I know how that feels. I killed a hdd when I was in high school and it had my CS custom maps and textures on it. :(

This is the only map for Insurgency that I really play. I play it by myself, and I don't think I have every completed it. This map on single player makes me feel like Solid Snake. Thanks for the great map :)

Delete all the files in the insurgency/custom/workshop folder is not the main workshop folder is just the legacy ones before you start your server, and it will work. the problem is that you will have to do this every time you restart the server.

Just an FYI, My server has workshop/mod/map support. I was trying to install your map along with other maps that installed just fine. When the server tries to download this map the download shows a repeated 100.0% downloading over and over again and will not stop until I have to end it by closing the command window. I would really like to have this map on my server. Do you know what might be causing this?

It gets packed into the bsp by the workshop...you would have to decompile map somehow and rebuild it without the file...thats why I never did it. Future maps will have a button to turn off music.

Wwhere is the jingle bells file located? Is tat something I can remove myself?

Really like this map. I've only ever found one IED, though. Are there more? One thing though, Jingle bells has to go. May is a bad time of year to get Jinglr Brlls stuck in my had. :-)

Public Enemy-you might have to copy the file out of the workshop folder and put it into maps for it to work. I dont think the console knows to search that folder.

Solid Snake-Thanks for the kind comment man. I'm really glad the map is still so fun. Unfortunately I lost all of the map files in a computer issue so it would be hard to make changes or update it again. Maybe though.

Hey guys just an update: Life got really intense right after I made this map. Long story short I no longer have the files for his map in hammer. So it is as it will be. Thank you for all of the support. I will look to make some PVP maps in the future with a winter theme. I am planning on releasing a map in the fall when I have a little more time to work. Thanks again for all the comments and for playing my map! You guys rock!

You gotta work on the AI spawn placement, its a problem that coop maps are so open and has so many roads to one place when the AI can spawn anywhere and kill you behind you. Nice map tho, the chrismas music makes it fantastic.

holy shit this map looks badass!

Everyone on my server loves the map.... Job well done... The only question/comment that I have heard is concerning the Christmas Tree and Christmas Music.. Idea for you... During the off Christmas Season you can have it seasonal... For Example during Easter play and Easter Bunny Song.. During the summer months, play some Beach Boys, etc... Keep up the good work.
