will this work in VR mod? I completed this achievement on the flat version without this mod, which took 40 minutes instead of 5-10. I don't want to sit in the helmet and try not to lose the gnome again :D

It's not a "cheat mod", it's QoL. I did it the old way in standalone ep2 and the collision model was always garbage, it's artificial difficulty. Imagine if the car didn't have a rack for magnusson devices either

dude life saver. for those saying it doesnt work, you have to really pull the gnome up and insert it over the seat. if necessary you have to get on top of something or if you can on the ledge of the car

I think this mod is glitched or somehow been patched by valve so the achievement is harder to get, I did get the mod to work once with some effort, but today its glitched again.

@hup just subscribe to this, then at the main menu check extras, then workshop (subscribed section) to see if it's loaded. If not restart the game and check again.

I got this achievement on the Xbox 360 version a few years back and I used godmode to make it easier. That won't cut it on the Steam Version, so this mod was really helpful in getting Gnome Chompski to his final destination. If you're having trouble getting him OUT of the car, a few punts from the Gravity Gun will do the trick.

the mod works great but it is kinda hard to get him in the car and the gnome can fly out of the car in certain points, it makes the task of bringing the gnome to the rocket much much easier

entiendo que quieras ayudar con un mod que su instalacion no es obligatoria, pero recuerden que el logro de llevar al gnomo era el mejor logro que podias sacar y el mas dificil por lo tardado que era, y tenerlo asi de esta forma tan facil, me parece que le quitas el verdadero reto...

You guys know ya can just spawn a gnome near the rocket at the end and get the archivement right?
Just open the console command and type:

prop_physics_create props_junk/gnome.mdl;ent_setname gnome
Put the gnome in the rocket and you get it.

And i wish i know that before i did it the hard way, because the helichopter part was hell, you have to let the gnome near the farm go to load the next part of the map and come back so there's no helichopter to shot you.
Also when you let Alyx in the room with the volt you can just use the gravity gun and toss the gnome to the road near the gate so you don't have to carry him to get the car.
