He is the spirit of Beauregard a butler formerly under the employ of one Zepheniah Mann, still trying to serve the interests of his long dead employers company. Zepheniah Mann is of course also dead and manifests as a bed sheet ghost in the game. Ghosts are very common in the lore of the game.
